We were planning on doing a traditional head table, and renting a large limo, so we could spend our time with our bridal party. At our PS our planner suggested doing a sweetheart table so our bridal party could be seated with their dates/kids, etc. She also suggested we rent our limo through Disney, rather than an outside company due to chance of delays, etc. Problem is, if we rent the normal limo used through Disney our bridal party will not all fit. If we want the hummer through them, it is about double the outside vendor we contacted. I need advice on both of these issues.

1. Should we do the sweetheart table instead of the head table? I would love to see pictures of others who had a sweetheart table and know your opinion on whether you were happy with that decision.

2. Which of the following should we do:

- Rent the limo we really like through an outside vendor and risk the chance of delays/mix ups.
- Rent the limo we really like through Disney, which is about $500 over budget.
- Rent the smaller limo through Disney and just take it ourselves after the ceremony, all the rest of the bridal party would take the motorcoach.
- Rent the smaller limo through Disney and have it make 2 trips, one with everyone in our bridal party except us, the MOH (and her hubby who is a GM), and the BM (and his wife who is a BM). And then take us the second trip.

I would really appreciate some advice. IMO there are pros and cons to all the above scenarios for both topics. I am too indecisive!

How about a fifth scenario where instead of renting a limo, you rent a van through Disney, which holds 11 people and actually costs less than the too-small limo? Sure, it's not as glamorous as people consider a limo to be, but then you can all ride together in one trip (I'm assuming... how many are there in your bridal party?) and will save some money.

As to whether or not an outside vendor will be less reliable, there are plenty of stories of lost/delayed transportation provided by Mears, Disney's contracted vendor, so that excuse seems specious to me. Besides, it would be in an outside vendor's best interest to provide you excellent service, whereas Mears is gonna keep getting Disney's business whether you have a good experience or not. Just the other side of the argument for you there...

We did a sweetheart table and really enjoyed it (for one thing, we got to actually focus on and enjoy our food!), but then we only each had one attendant, and the whole gathering was 36 people. My argument for the sweetheart table has always been that you two will get some time alone and nobody will have to separate from their spouse to be at the head table. But, again, at a more formal reception maybe it would be expected to have a head table.

How many people make up your bridal party? I think I'm in the same predicament as you!

I really like the sweetheart table! That is what I am doing. My MOH and my BM have both done sweethearts and it did really work out. My fiancee then was just my boyfriend and he didnt know anyone and it made him much more comfortable to be my guest at my best friends wedding when he could sit with me!
If your party is all intertwined wher your moh is your DF's GM and no one is odd one out then a head table would be a nice traditional option :)

Thanks for the reply's. I think I am leaning toward the sweetheart table, but I'm still not so sure about the limo. I always imagined having everyone in the limo having a good time on the way to the reception, and I also don't see what the big deal is about having an outside vendor for this. We will only be going from the WP to the boardwalk, and if worst came to worst, we could always jump on the motor coach. My planner also talked about the bridal party having to wait around for us to finish all our pictures if we rent the big limo, and all ride to the reception together, which is a valid point. They could be at the cocktail hour instead. But, they could also wait in the limo for us with drinks and music, which I don't think they would mind. I'm having a very hard time making this decision!

We have 7 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen.

We did a sweetheart table and we really liked it. It gave us some time to be alone and enjoy our dinner. I have to admit, I am not really a fan of seating people away from their dates. I've been to a few weddings where this was done and it is kind of awkward for the date, especially if they don't know many other people.

On the limo, it's hard to say. The Hummer would probably be better in pictures. We used a Disney limo and motorcoach. The BP ended up going on the Motorcoach while we finished taking pictures. Although it was just from the WP to the GF, so only a 5 minute ride anyway. I wouldn't have wanted them to wait for us though because we missed most of the cocktail hour and they were able to be there to mingle with everyone and relax.
