One of the things I love about living in Germany is that they make amazing sweet, white wines.
Rieslings and spateleses are excellent.
Eiswein if you want something ultra sweet (almost syrup)--but that is usually too much for me.
I don't know if Uwe Spies imports to the US or not, but they make the best IMO
For reds, I like Lillets from France.
This is my favorite wine and its available anywhere. There is a small winery in Nevada City, CA called Indian Springs, they make an amazing MoscatoA nice light, sweet wine is Moscato over ice.Barefoot cellars has a very tasty Moscato.
I am a big drinker of sweeter wines, mostly white, althought I have found that all rieslings are not sweet, some are way too dry for my taste.
I do not drink much red - although recently we tried a chilean red called "jam jar" that is sweet for a red
My current favorites are:
Dr Loosen Riesling
Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling
Polka Dot Riesling
Pacific Rim Sweet Riesling (They have 2 rieslings, one is sweet and one is dry, I prefer the sweet)
Target has a boxed white sangria that is really good.
I see you are from NC. Have you tried any of the Duplin Winery wines? I don't normally like wine but their wines are great. I think favorites are Carolina Red or Hatteras Red. As far as the Moscato, there is a favorite in our area but I will have to remember the name.

Barefoot also has a sparkling Moscato that is yummy.
Another in the sweet category but not quite as sweet as moscato is
Gewurtztraminer - I really like Nevada City Wineries Gewurtztraminer
I love, love, love Duplin wines! I'm from SC, so I stock up when I go there. I can't find it here in Florida. I have sent it mail-order to the in-laws in NY, who also loved it.
It reminds me of the homemade Muscadine wines that used to be much easier to find, always made by someone out in the country from their own grapes. Muscadine grapes are native to the southeastern US. Yummmm!
Lakeridge & San Sebastian use muscadine grapes. ABC liquors & Publix carry their wine but the best deal is at the winery. Several times a year they offer buy one case get one free. That's when I stock up.
