I have never eaten at a Sweet Tomatoes before, but checked out their website and it looks good, but no prices are listed. Can anyone tell me if they've eaten at the ones at Crossroads, near DTD, and if so, was it good, and worth the $$? Thanks!

Thanks! I did join the email list earlier today... does anyone know what the prices are like?

about $9.00 and its buffett with salad, soups, and pastas, and desserts.

We have Sweet Tomatoes here in KC and eh... You can get full, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot taste wise. If you like salad it has a nice variety, and there are a few pastas and breads that are fine, but not really worth writing home about. I would go with a coupon though.

Mousesavers just ran a review in their 6/15 newsletter. The price varies on day & time but around $10. Mentioned that they had a 50'+ salad bar including toppings, about 5 or 6 soups & chilli, no pasta, a couple of baked potato options and deserts. Didnt mention if drinks were included. Mentioned that everything was really fresh & staff was constently replenishing things. Sounds like if you enjoy this kind of meal its well worth the price.

If you like salad and soup then you will probably enjoy it. Our group was mixed-- the ladies liked it ---the guys not so much. The guys said there wasn't enough "man" food. lol!

I know sweet tomatoes is really popular on these boards but we were underwhelmed by it. I think it was around $10 a person and while it is a buffet and they have lots of toppings, we thought it was a little high for what you got.

We enjoyed it and are planning on going back. I think it was $10.99 or 11.99 and $1.99 for drinks.

I think the Sweet Tomatoes prices vary by region. The one in Orlando is slightly higher than where we live. We only go if we have a BOGO coupon from their Club Veg and I think it's just under $9/person without a beverage. DH and I really like it - you can definitely get very full! He likes the chili and adds mac-n-cheese to it. I like the clam chowder. I don't eat pasta but it looks decent. They usually have pizza and a baked potato bar. The salad bar is huge and has a great variety. The dessert offerings are nice, too. They have some sugar free options, fruit, as well as frozen yogurt with various toppings, and usually a brownie or other gooey dessert.

I enjoy it now and then when we are looking for a lighter meal out. The salad bar is pretty good and has things that other places don't offer (specialty salads). I pretty much fill up on salads so the food bar is just a bonus.

At the food bar there's 3 different types of fresh pastas that someone cooks right there. There's pizza, different breads including homemade sourdough, focaccia, cornbread, blueberry and banana nut muffins, a baked potato bar, about 5 or 6 fresh soups, a fruit bar, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. The cookies are not always out, but ask if there's a batch coming. The servers also brings the cookies around to your table. The deserts include apple crumb or cherry cobbler (it changes), some kind of chocolate cobbler, chocolate brownies, chocolate pudding and softserve ice cream with a various toppings.

If you skip the drink and just get water, you'll save around $2.25 on each drink. That's where they get you.

I get B1G1F coupons every couple of weeks via email. It really ends up being a great deal with the coupons and drinking water for your beverage. Two people can eat for around $10.00 that way. I just got another email from them yesterday.

One time when were ate at Sweet Tomatoes several years ago, DD's soup had a an empty foil pill holder in it! We called the manager and he said the cook had a cold and must have been taking some medicine while he was in the kitchen. :scared: We were all comped our meals that day and we didn't return for a long time!!
