Sweet Tea

I totally feel this question, I am a sweet tea addict! Mama Melrose had sweet tea when I was there in February, but they were the only place that did.

First of all, what syrup to put in tea are you talking about? Also, what about the water? Their water is not good and if they add sugar to that water it's actually disgusting! 1/12 years ago we found sweet tea at Connections, made with good water. They offer water in cups everywhere, even refillable fountains, but.... yuk! Talked to a local and they said Orlando finally fixed their water, but Disney World never did. This way you have to purchase their expensive water bottles.

I'm a local but can't say I've ever heard anyone complain about the water. I am not sure what that person meant when they said the water was fixed

Florida has quite the reputation for bad tasting water. Most water in Disney World is filtered and tastes good but as someone who asks for the free cup of ice water ... sometimes I get one that isn't filtered. :tilt: I pour it out.

Florida water has a sulfur taste/sometimes smell to it, and sometimes discolored. I have no idea what someone means by the water being fixed, you would have to filter the entire system and I doubt they'd spend that - just let each home or business add the filters.

My folks filtered their kitchen water, and we are part of a complex that must filter because ours is tolerable to cook but we drink bottled.

A commercial brand name is SIMPLE SYRUP but there are many brands and some are flavored. My MIL made her own. It is a staple in bars so some places with a bar can provide it and it immediately mixes with the tea. No dissolving has to happen.

Personally the food court teas they offer are BLEH and I won't drink them. Only a couple restaurants offer sweet tea so I do get a few fixes each trip but otherwise REAL sweet tea in not a think in Disney.
