SWEET SIXTEEN :Have they been kissed? PTR: Updated 8/15

Oh, I had missed the fact that you had to have a bone scan for cancer! :scared1: I am very glad that it is "good" news. I just looked up bursitis (we call it Schleimbeutelentzündung (great word, isn't it? ;)) - it translates into something like inflamation of the "slime bags") and it sounds painful. I hope they will be able to help you with it!

Thanks and I think I like the English name better:rotfl2:Yes I am happy it is just schleimbeutelenzundung and not cancer !!The doctor hadn't indicated it could be I jsut looked up hip pain and there was an awful lot of indicators that it was cancer for me !! Hence I paniced !!!:scared1:

Magdalena, I had to look it up too! :lmao:
Oh, the "blessing" of a foreign language - "Schleimbeutelentzündung" IS painful, but at least it is "easy" to cure!
Good news for Rosie and all of us who love her reviews and pre-trippies so much! :goodvibes

It is a blessing indeed for it NOT to be cancer !!!Thanks for your concern !!

Okay, the part of that word that jumps out at me are the last four letters, which makes it sound like a really crappy thing to have....... :rolleyes1

:lmao::lmao:It is painful though!!! But the pain is much better than the alternative !!

Marv I was both first and second to respond to your update :snooty::rotfl2:

Magdalena, I had to look it up too! :lmao:

Isn't it fun how English is using these scientific sounding Latin names for illnesses which have plain names in German? Like the plantar fasciitis which comes up here on the DIS again and again - it's called Fersensporn in German... :confused3

Thanks and I think I like the English name better:rotfl2:

I thought it might cheer you up a little bit! :goodvibes And it looks like some other people were amused by it as well! :thumbsup2

:

Never thought about it being read this way :lmao:

-ung is a very commom suffix in German, mainly used to make a verb into a noun.

:lmao::lmao:It is painful though!!! But the pain is much better than the alternative !! Amen to that, Sister!

Marv I was both first and second to respond to your update :snooty::rotfl2:
I saw that Rosie! Right on the ball. You haven't been sitting there waiting since last night have you??? And I guess you are wanting some bonus points for that....... :confused3 :rotfl2:

You told Rosie you were glad she had bursitis instead of that FIVE letter word that you hate. Only Dan could spell cancer(6-letter word) with 5 letters......... :rolleyes1

On a more somber note, I understand fully why you hate that word, and personally I can't wait until the day that we can spell it with ZERO letters because it has been eradicated!!! :thumbsup2 Won't that be a great day when any of us can stay at GKTW because it is no longer needed for its original purpose!!! :woohoo:

Woops... thanks for pointing that out. I was reading and re-reading what I wrote and my lack of counting the letters never occurred to me. :sad2: But I did know that any Dan reference had to do with spelling. :lmao::lmao:

I'll drink to that! :drinking1

Rosie, I"m so glad that your slime bags have checked out with "only bursitis". Which unfortunately is still quite painful from what I read and hear. I'm with Tim, cancer is a horrible, horrible thing! So glad that's not what you're dealing with!

:yay::yay: Woo Hoo for NO CANCER Rosie!! Did not realize you were having a scan. Can you get a shot or something to help with the pain??

Slime balls????? Ok.

You know I read the "5 letter word post" & never caught on either. I guess I probably should not admit that huh???:rolleyes1
