This is my first post to start our MAW pre-trip report. Our family includes me, my DH, our DD (8yo) and Mollie Jean, our 3 yo wish kid. A very long story short, due to some mild developmental delays (and alot of motherly intuition and insistence), an MRI was performed basically to calm me down and prove to me that there was no reason for her delays. Well...
Our sweet Mollie Jean was diagnosed with a stage 2 cerebellar tumor in March 2014. It was able to be completely surgically removed, praise God! She did not have to undergo any chemo or radiation at that time. The plans were to continue MRIs every 3 months to look for tumor regrowth, and if it recurs, she will start chemo.
Her oncologist referred her in July to MAW. We met with our wonderful wish coordinators in August and MJ made her wish-- "to see Frozen." So we are off to Disney World! They asked us for 3 possible dates that would work for our family, and since my DH is a teacher, we chose Christmas break, MLK break, and Easter break. We really didn't expect to hear soon about the trip, but we were told in October that we will be going to on MJs MAW trip Dec 18th-Dec 24th!! We will be staying at GKTW.
My DH and I are so excited. We have not told MJ or big sis anything; in fact none of our family knows either! We are planning to wait until our wish coordinators do the wish reveal party to tell them all! I can't wait!
MJ is positively crazy about all things Frozen. She was Anna for Halloween and she sleeps with a HUGE Olaf every night. I am so excited to see her face when she gets to meet Anna and Elsa
