Sweating my choices...

Just DH and I in a few weeks. We'll be doing some F&W over 3 days (splitting up the pigging out) but we have ADRs every night - I like getting in early and then bailing out of the parks by 5. We're staying at the Poly, so all choices are in that area. I've got dinner ADRs at Kona (arrival night), Citricos, Cali Grill, and Narcoosee's. I've been thinking about swapping out either Citricos or Narcoosee's for the Wave - it's less expensive, more casual, and the menu looks fantastic. Maybe quieter? Sure seems like people here are into it.

Any thoughts appreciated!

I would swap narcoossees but i had an awful meal at narcoossees. the one thing that i've never been into at the wave is the lack of atmosphere though... it just feels like you could be anywhere and not necessarily at Disney.

Yes, I agree with this. We also had an awful experience at Narcoosee's. Not fun when you are dropping hundreds of dollars on a meal. I would switch to the Wave. The food is really good and the atmosphere is kind of funky (in a good way). Plus I find it kind of fun to walk around CR - see the monorail go through, check out the gift shops, etc.

Citrico's is ok. If you want to save some money, I would switch that out to GF Cafe. Or, for a better meal than Citrico's (and nicer, quieter atmosphere), I would head over to WL and eat at Artist Point.

A couple of years ago, we did an anniversary thing for my parents at Citricos, and it was great - that same trip, we stayed at WL and ate 3x at Artist Point! Amazing, but we wanted to try something else :). The money isn't a huge issue, but when I am specifically looking at Wave, it is appealing! Might have to go with it...

I am planning to take my parents to AP on my next trip (we are staying at copper creek). dinner at AP then HEA fireworks cruise, should be a nice evening!

That sounds fantastic. Artist Point is really great, especially if you're staying at WL/area.

If I were in your shoes, I would order room service. I stayed at the poly 7 nights last year and 3 of those nights we ordered room service.

Twice we got the twilight feast (basically ohana food in the comfort of your room), we also got some sushi. My husband was a big fan of not having to deal with people and just enjoying our food out on the balcony. It made for a really relaxing vacation because we weren't stressed about getting to an ADR.

It didn't break the bank, either. The twilight feast came to just over $50 with tip and it was plenty of food for us. Plus, you get that amazing bread pudding.

I would swap out Narcoossee's and go to The Wave especially if you are trying to stay on budget. Narcoossee's (to me, anyway) is the worst "bang for the buck" fine dining option at WDW. Not that the food is bad, mind you. But when the check arrives, you think to yourself: "Where did all that money go?" And I think the answer is: "Waterfront Dining". The Wave has little in the way of atmosphere. But you will get a very good meal at a very fair price.

I would switch Narcoosees to The Wave for sure. We've done Narcoosees 3 times. First time, great. Second time, bad. Third time, just Eh. Our last trip we tried The Wave for the first time, and was absolutely blown away! The food was fantastic, but even more so was the service! It definitely felt more like a Signature restaurant, than a regular Table credit experience. We are definitely going back!

You guys are killing me! My husband this morning was all, "the waterfront part looks great, and the fireworks view..." It isn't the money I'm worried about as the fact that I just don't see a lot of love for Narcoosee's recently. But at the same time, I don't like the idea of being in an all-inside-and-no-windows restaurant on our last night.

I'm giving it an hour or two and then likely making the following executive decision: swapping Narcoosee's out so we do Citricos instead on our last night, and subbing in the Wave on the night we previously had Citricos. Genius. Because, you know, world peace, and why be simple?

GraceMonica, I strongly considered room service, but the feast menu doesn't really appeal to me that much for some reason. If we do Citrico's, though, we can get a 6:20 ADR, which will have us back in our room (we're CL and lagoon view, so we'd be out on our balcony or in the lounge at critical time!). Thank you :).

2vets, I think you made the perfect decisions!! You are Genius, indeed! Enjoy!

Just seeing this after it appears you made your changes, but I have had breakfast and dinner at the Wave this year. Both meals were just ok to me and my family. Ironically I had scallops and compared them to my Narcoossee's scallops and the Wave could not hold a candle to my Narcoossee's meal. I had read about how the Wave was a "hidden gem," but I do not plan on returning unless I am staying at the CR and absolutely need a meal on my checkout day. I would probably rather eat a turkey sandwich from Contempo Cafe.

For another monorail TS, I would personally pick the GF Cafe over the Wave. I have had slower service once or twice, but I have always enjoyed my meals and there are windows!
