Our next trip is in September. We've always vacationed in November or December. Are we really going to notice the heat and humidity in September? How bad can it get? Any suggestions or hints to help us with this trip?

Just remember, September 1st is only one day past August 31st!!!! It's just as hot and humid in September as it is in August - but you'll still have a great time. Up early, use FastPass, stay in air conditioning or walk through shops to cool off, drink lots of water, etc. You'll have fun!!!

It is truly awful as far as heat and humidity. Just remember to use the suggestions made by DVCLiz!

Yep, miserably hot and humid if it isn't pouring rain!

We went the very last week of sept last year, and it was still quite hot and humid. However - it was not so hot that we couldn't enjoy ourselves! Just make sure to take water and plan some time at the pool. Still shorts and t-shirts, not pants or jackets necessary! and we only got sprinkled on for a few minutes one day!

I guess I'm weird, but we love hot and humid---will take it any day over freezing cold ! That said, we've been to WDW 3X during Sept (from early to late in the month) and it's always been pretty hot (85-90 was the norm one year). Plan to go on the attractions that involve outdoor lines in the morning and save the indoor attractions for the real heat of the day (also when the rain will usually hit). Plan a couple pool/water park days as well ! Have a great time---on the flip side, the crowds are usually pretty good in this month.

I've gone twice mid to end of sept. 90 degrees 90% humidity. No lines. Small crowds. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being busiest) one of teh travel sites ranked it a 2 for that season (except weekends). Both times it only rained one night for us. Now, last year was likely much different, but I'll definitely go September again!

Thanks to everyone who answered my post. I'm looking forward to the short lines, packing light, and wearing shorts all the time! That will be a new experience.

We love September! We have gone twice before in September and are going this September also. We find the weather to be perfect (except for the year we were there during a hurricane...but it was nice before and after!). We love the short lines, warm water at Typhoon Lagoon, and the sun! I guess for us it wouldn't be Florida if it wasn't hot and humid, and we are coming from Utah which is pretty much a desert! We are happy if other people still don't like it, let's keep it that way!!! :rotfl2:

Allears.net has a page with some good suggestions regarding hot weather, maybe some will work for you:

I've gone 3 times in September. All three times I had mixed results with weather--some days killer hot, other days nice and warm but comfortable, not unbearable. Most of the time when it did rain it was over in an hour or two. The one bit of advice that I think is a must is to get out of the sun at the hottest time of the day. Schedule a break back at your resort or an air conditioned long leisurely meal.

Thank you for reccomending the very informative web site. There were some terrific ideas for surviving the heat, and important symptoms to be aware of while in the heat and humidity.
