Beetle Bugs are swarming in my yard, they are all over my roof and eating my Hibiscus, I think they are having a mating swarm. they flew in as a swarm this morning, what is the best way to get rid of these annoying guests?
They eat the leaves off of trees and plants and just leave the veins behind. They are black but have a irrediscant metallic multicolor shine to them.

Those sound like Japanese beetles.

We don't have them here in Memphis, thank goodness, but when I was a child in Va. they would skeletonize everything.

IMHO
Yup, sounds like JB but I've never seen them swarm. That's horrible. JBs buggers are ravaging here as well. :sad2: I'll look for the thread about the life cycle and treatment. We discuss it every year. Not much you can do but treat them at this point. Sevin works for me. Powder or liquid application. They're grubs from the soil in their previous stage. If you can nab them while they're grubs at least you can cut back on the amount of JBs. But that's for next season right now treat the JBs.
