We are on the DDP and we don't often have TS meals, is it ok to use TS meals for CS meals. We have a few TS meals booked that use 2 TS so that will use some up. We don't want to be left with TS meals and also end up paying for CS meals.
We do enjoy TS meals but we just like a quick eat as we are always so busy we don't want to lose time in the parks

Sorry, but as far as I know you cannot use a TS for a CS. You can use your extra TS for breakfasts which usually is a much quicker meal.

I'm subscribing to this thread and curious to hear more answers on it. I was told that you can downgrade anything but no upgrades on the DDP. Like we could use unused cs credits for snacks and TS for CS.

They let me at the CBR food court in May 2007. My one year old was really cranky and wasn't going to sit for a TS dinner, so they let me use a TS credit for a CS meal with no problem.

Yes, we did that in 2006 when we had the free dining plan too.

I'm curious as to whether they will be doing the same thing during the free dining period this year too.

As of right now we don't have enough ADR's for the TS credit's we'll have during our trip. I had a hard time deciding what we wanted then getting those, & I haven't been able to get some of them, still after "stalking" the Disney dining planning folks.

They let us do it on Aug 8,2008! My BIL's family messed up their meals and did not use enough TS but left at 3am to drive home. We did not have enough time to do a sit down. I went to the front desk at SSR and asked and they said absolutly, they convert them over right at the registers of CS.

I do not know what they do for Free dining but we were able to use them.

If I remember correctly, that was only allowed during the 2006 Free Dining dates.

It was also allowed during the free DDP 2007 - the promo ran on SSR resort TV channel. They traded the meals and gave a "bonus"... we ended up trading 4 TS meals and in turn received 4 CS meals and 4 lanyards with 2 trading pins each (you could choose snacks in lieu of the lanyard and pin set).

Thanks everyone, lets hope that we'll be able to swap too.

Last summer during our 9 day stay at ASMO, we paid for the DDP, and twice used TS credits at the ASMO food court. I feel it was a waste of credits, but several of times, my DD2 was SOOOOOO crabby and miserable, we didnt see the point of trying to enjoy a meal, and didnt want to throw credits away (an even bigger waste) Also, we had my girlfriend join us for dinner on a few nights, and her younger sis once at Le Cellier. At LC, we were allowed to use dining credits for all of us (4 adults) also, at Mama Melrose, we were allowed to use a TS credit for our guest. We were told at Liberty Tree Tavern and Ohana that this wasnt allowed, so we just paid OOP for her meals there. I dont know if we broke any rules. All we did was ask if we could use TS credits at on those occaisions :thumbsup2

We had a bunch of counter service left over on our last day and we used them for snacks at the food court in the Land at Epcot. It probably just depends on who you get at the counter. Can't hurt to ask!

I cancelled an adr on tuesday, the 19th and asked the cast member about using a TS for a CS. She asked what plan was I on and I responded the regular free dining and she stated no - not on that plan. It may have been a case that she didn't know what she was talking about, or it could be that Disney has decided to squeeze people into paying for CS meals because all the TS restaurants are booked. :confused3 In years past, I have also used TS credits for CS. Like others have said, it could be dependent on the particular cast member.

It is usually no problem if you just go to the front desk at your resort and ask for them to do so...please note that once they have been converted to CS credits they cannot be converted back if you change your mind...we did this with a TS credit we had left when our daughter fell asleep right before we were seated at one of our TS meals...if figured it did not hurt to ask if we could convert it and sure enough they allowed it...it saved us having to buy one kids CS meal on our last day :)

I seem to remember people exchanging last year during free dining at CSR. A family asked for a print out of their remaining meals and saw that they had a bunch of TS left, so the CM changed them to CS+Snacks... We have enough ADRs booked, but if DBF's mother (who doesn't eat much) doesn't want to do the TS meals, we should change her credits if it's allowed this year.:confused3
