Swapping QS drink at resort?

I understand that the DDP brochure no longer contains the language for beverage swaps in the QS meal. Obviously, no harm (YMMV) asking at the parks when you generally place the order at the register and then pick up your food since the CM at the register can tell you if you can/cannot swap. But, at the food courts across resorts, if we have the refillable mugs and would therefore, not need an additional drink, is the swapping policy more liberal outside of the parks/at resorts? Since the "process" (I.e. you order the food at the bays generally before paying) is reversed at the resorts, and CMs cannot advised before the food is ordered, I'm curious what the swapping success rates have been at resorts?

I guess my question for those who have used the DDP this year is, have you tried and been successful or unsuccessful when attempting to swap out a drink at resorts if you have the refillable mugs?

Posters who have used QS credits have said that they've had better luck at the resorts because of the refillable mug. In the parks, not as much.

When we went in February the CM at ASMu checkout told me since we're on the DDP everyone should grab a snack since we have a refillable mug anyway. I didn't ask them about it, didn't even occur to me really -- they just told me when we went to checkout. I'm not sure if it's the official policy but the CM acted as if that's the way it works.
