Swapping ADR

Hey! So A friend made an ADR under her name, and it turns out, they had a larger party than they thought, so they gave it to my fiance and I to have.

The ADR is under their name and has their credit card attached to it, and we're afraid that the system will "gobble up" the dropped REZ in case they overbooked. What would be the best way to switch it. Can we call to change the credit card number, and just use their name?

And do you have to present/pay with the credit card used in the reservation?

Thanks guys!

Disney does not permit the transfer of ADRS. So you will not be able to just swap the ADR to your name or credit card.

You will have to use their name and credit card hold (you can pay with a different card, but if you do not show up for the reservation, THEY will be charged), or they must cancel the reservation and you try to pick it up off the system.

Two things: my friend is scared that the dinner will be charged to their card. Is it even a possibility to charge it to the card used if we don't have it (since they already have the billing info?)

And do we need to present the ACTUAL card at the check in?

Thanks.

John

No one would be "scared" if you were doing something that's okay.

Disney doesn't allow you to swap ADRs.

Unless the reservation is at CRT or one of the dinner shows which are fully prepaid at the time the res was made, the cc guarantee is only a no show guarantee. If you show up for the res, you can choose a different card or method of payment. The CMs will not ask to see your friend's cc. That cc will be charged only if the res is not cancelled within the allowable time frame and then your group doesn't show up at the restaurant.

The only way the res will be "gobbled up"/cancelled is if your friend decides to make another restaurant reservation around the same time. The Disney system won't allow 2 reservations for the same time/day and will ask the person which res to cancel. If your friend opts to cancel the res they've given you, then yes, that res will be canceled.

There's no way to call and have the res transferred to your name. You could try checking for availability to make your own res.
