I was wondering if anyone ever did a color swap. It seems to me always can use something in a certain color scheme, like blues for beach scraps or red or holidays (Christmas and Valentines day), pink for girls.....

I was wondering if anyone would be up for a scrap where they were responsible for a certain color. This could be a very generic swap that could really fit in most pages?

Just a thought...

ETA: I won't feel bad if this is a less the stellar idea :teeth:

I had participated in a color swap before. It was pretty nice. It was a page kit swap where each person put together a set of embellishments for a color. For example, I had dark blue and I made a kit for each person that included a frame/mat, a journaling block, a few accept blocks and a generic border. There were a total of 5 of us in each group and I received kits that others make using: green, light blue, purple and teal. The hostess was going to make it a group of red and then each person would make an item that was red, but the problem is that with so many different shades of colors out there that the red I chose to use might not match the red you chose to use. It was a pretty nice swap.

This is kind of what I had in mind. It sounds like it was neat! I would host this if enough people are interested. I don't mind waiting until people have more free time. I feel many people might be busy with their kids on summer break!

i would be interested in this type of a swap. sounds like a good one for my first time.

I've been in a couple of color swaps. I especially like the kind that JenLyn mentioned because of the "match" factor. We included ribbon, fiber, eyelets and tags. You could be specific and suggest Bazzill Cardinal (red), Bazzill Licorice (black), etc. for color coordination, especially if people wanted to use them for Disney layouts.

I'd be interested.

I need to see the details to make sure I understand what exactly you are talking about but I think it will be fun.

I look forward to seeing the details.

I wasn't going to do any more swaps for a while because I'm not sure how much more Disney stuff I can use. However, this one sounds good - as long as I can handle the number of items needed. This last swap ended up being awful! Not only did I volunteer for paper piecing (huge mistake!) but life got in the way and I ended up being late. :(

Would this be one of those "do xx points worth of stuff in xxx color" or would we all do the exact same items?

hey, I've seen this type of swap over on lifetime moments and they usually run them in groups of 10 or so. and for example:

pink:
1 eyelets
2 brads
3 fiber
4buttons

etc....
so one person would sign up for buttons and just do buttons for each person in the group.

just an example. :) maggie

If we do Bazzill then I would like to be counted in.

Okay, I am looking at a few other boards to get ideas and I will start a sign-up thread tomorrow. :cool1:

I hope everyone has a great night! :goodvibes
