Ok...so my family booked POR for 1/2-1/6, and now are rethinking to moving our ressie to the Swan. (Bigger beds, closer to the Boardwalk action)

I realized that I can't even book the Swan through WDW website! So what WDW "perks" would we NOT be ellibile for if we switch to the Swan? Can we go to EMH? Also, do you think this is a good switch (from POR to Swan)? Or will we regret it?!?!

Hi,

You will not be eligible for Magical Express, and you will not be able to charge anything to your room unless it was purchased in the Swan or the Dolphin.

That is correct. You can still partake in EMH.
You will get Disney transportation to the parks and DTD.
You can still recieve package delivery to your resort.

The Swan/Dolphin often has great rates that cost about as much as a Disney Moderate.

They are real 4 star hotels.

Deluxe but not as expensive as Disney's deluxe resorts.

The heavenly beds are ...well heavenly.

The Grotto pool and hot tubs are fun and relaxing.

Plus Epcot and MGM are just a short boat ride or walk away!

From Epcot hop on the monorail and head on over to the MK!

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

No magical express service to/from airport, cannot be on the dining plan, but if those two things we not part of your trip, I saw SWAN all the way... we LOVE it there! I think it is by far one of the best deluxe resorts... and the location is the BEST! We love the Epcot resort, even more so than the MK resorts! Let us know what you decide! Good luck!

I am going to guess since you a less than a month away from your trip you must not have the DDP package otherwise you pay a penalty to make changes to your pkg now.

Linda, are you sure about package delivery? I had always heard that Swan and Dolphin did not have package delivery service. Was my info wrong, or is that something that changed recently?

The last time I stayed there in September of 2006 they had package delivery.
I just called to make sure they still have it and the answer was yes.

Ok....just switched to the Swan from POR. We are so excited!!! :cool1: Thanks for all of the info!!

Not Linda, but I am sure there is and always has been package delivery from the parks and DTD to the Swan and Dolphin. We have been taking advantage of that perk, used it on our first trip to the Dolphin in 1999 and as recently as August 07. One difference way back when was that when WDW Resorts were delivering packages to the room S/D guests had to pick them up at the WDW gift shop in the resort. Now it is handled that way at all the resorts.

As pp's mentioned you don't get ME, DDP or charging privledges. Some folks miss the Mickey Soaps but I personally love the B&BW so that dosen't bother me.

They do offer WDW Guest services onsite, a WDW gift shop, EMH and WDW Transportation.

In addition they offer a AAA discount at the restaurants and if you join the starwood program (free) the points build up quickly and they sometimes offer upgrades even when you have little to no points.

We love the Dolphin and stay there often. I have always found the staff to be as great (sometimes better) than the WDW CM's and the pool is one of the best on property. The abiliity to walk to two parks, mini golf and many many restaurants makes it a great choice for us.
