We just got back from the swan, can anyone tell me what that thing that looked like a camera was in the public bathrooms on the main floor? I asked the housekeeper and she said it was a camera but wasn't turned on yet.

Also...why the heck doesn't the swan use fitted sheets? The beds were so comfortable but the sheets kept getting balled up underneath us, which was NOT comfortable.

Camera in the bathroom:scared1:

I don't think any WDW hotels use fitted sheets:confused3

I have yet to stay at a hotel with fitted sheets. :confused3

I don't know about the cameras in the public bathrooms at the Swan or Dolphin as I haven't used them in several years.

Maybe something's been going on in there that they're trying to a handle on? Illegal activity of some sort? Interesting.....

i'm assuming it's not covering the stalls.

they may be increasing security due to the incident that occurred there a couple of months ago.

Brad, I was wondering the same thing. That incident happened during our May stay, yet I knew nothing of it until I got home and I read about it here.

Actually in the women's restroom the "thing" was in the stall, my husband said in the men's it was at the mirror pointed toward the stall.

If it's in the actual stall, then I highly doubt they were cameras. Isn't that against the law?

We have air freshener devices at the hospital I work at. They look very much like a unit that could house a camera, but where the eye of the camera would be is where the puff of scent/air freshener comes out. It does it automatically and sounds like a child sneezing! Before I realized what those things were and I heard that sound, it scared the you know what out of me. Good thing I was in the bathroom! :rotfl: ;)

Maybe the S/D is installing something similar. :confused3

Well, now I'm curious!

We're considering the Swan or Dolphin for our next trip (better discount than staying at a Disney resort due to employer) and I want to know what kind of "incident" happened!

Thanks for any info.

<< and I want to know what kind of "incident" happened!>.
A child molesting incident out at one of the pool areas. Aparenlty some sicko scumbag pedohile lured a little girl from the pool area into the bushes. Her brother saw it and reported the idiot.

I have been to several hotels that use only flat sheets. Most of the time they just tuck them in really tight so they don't come out.

It was actually another guest (father/son) who were watching the man and reported it - he was arrested immediately. Just goes to show, don't take your eyes off your young kids for a second in places like the pool!

Hotels don't use fitted sheets.

You can read about the incident on the Orlando Sentinel - it's probably still available if you search their archives.
