Help out there! I am planning a quick 4 day trip in the beginning of April for my daughter's birthday. We have stayed at PO and POLY before but are looking for the value/mod price this time. I know she wants some afternoon pool time. I have noticed the Swan/Dolphin are running a great price. We have never considered staying there. Any advice on ASMo, Caribbean, or the Swan/Dolphin choices??

We've done AllStar Music twice and PO/Riverside last March, this Nov. it'll be Dolphin. We got a great rate of $129 on the Gov't/Nurses/Teacher's discount, any body in your party one of those? Also we like the Epcot/MGM/Boardwalk cluster and all that is within walking distance of S/D. This year it's just the two of us and we'll be doing some pool lounging so the hotel facilities are more important this time. If our three semi-adult childern were coming we'd be going somewhere else.

Generally, if the prices are roughly the same between the moderates and what you can get for the Swan/Dolphin - then it seems like there is really very little choice! The Swan/Dolphin is a deluxe - offering more restaurant options, and easier access to two of the parks (Epcot and MGM). There are also more options as for room views than you would get with a moderate.

I love the moderates.... they are a good value all around... but if you can get a deluxe for the same price - then GO FOR IT!

Bill from PA-Why wouldn't you stay at the Dolphin if you were going with children? I am going in April and will have two children with me , please advise!

We've never stayed at one of the Moderates, but understand they are really nice. We have stayed at Dolphin, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Polynesian, and Yacth Club. We like the AKL best for themeing, but like the location of Dolphin best.

We are staying at AKL for our second time in April only because Swan and Dolphin were booked when we called. I like AKL better, but for shorter trips, the location of S/D would be our first choice. I would definately recommend S/D over moderates, though.

BTW, I don't think the S/W will accomodate more than 4 adults. They will accomodate a total of 4 plus a crib.

I'm curious too as to why Bill would stay somewhere else with semi-adult children?

Our boys are 11 and 12 and thoroughly enjoyed the Dolphin. It's very family friendly. The Grotto pool was voted 'most lush and exotic' by Disney Magazine last year and is a favorite of young and old alike. There's something for everyone there.

Bill, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he is referencing the size of the rooms. With two double beds in the room, there really isn't room for a day bed or rollaway bed. I think you have to move up to a jr. suite to get a day bed for a 5th who needs more than a crib. We have stayed 3 adults and one child plus a crib and the room was quite crowded. It would have been too tight a squeeze for anything more.

Blondie,
Our kids are the same ages (except one of mine is a girl). So glad to hear they like the Dolphin. We are making that our next resort - hopefully this summer.
