Swan versus Dolphin?

The Swan feals smaller and quiter. The Dolphin is HUGE and noisier.

If you are looking for action go Dolphin. If it's just the two of you, try the Swan.

We spent 2 days of our honeymoon just last week at the Swan (after the DCL Magic) and we liked it. It is very wlakable to MGM and EPCOT and you have the Boardwalk and all it offers right there. I will say this, however, you do know you are not in a Disney hotel. There is just something a bit different

Either resort is a good choice. We've stayed at the Dolphin 4 times now, and will be staying at the Swan for the second time in February just DH and myself. The kids are staying home, woo hoo!

The Dolphin is bright, festive and bustling with people.

The Swan is elegant and more subdued.

Both are basically in the same location. The entrance to the Boardwalk is a little closer from the Swan.

The main Grotto pool seems closer to the Dolphin. Both have their own lap pools.

The Swan has what is called a "hollywood bath" meaning there is a sink in with the tub and toilet, and another sink right outside the bathroom door. The Dolphin just has the one sink.

Both have the wonderful Heavenly Beds that are the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in!

The Dolphin has the convenience of Tubbi's Buffeteria, a 24 hour eatery as well as the cute Dolphin Fountain. The Dolphin also has an arcade and laundry room.

Both resorts have some of the best views on property, IMHO.

Have fun deciding!

We have stayed at both. Rooms are the same (except bed size, although the full size beds are nearly queen size..they aren't normal full size beds). We usually request a king, as it is just the two of us.

Great views, convenient locations. The back side entrances face each other, where you come out to head to one of the pool areas and epcot.

The Swan has about 1/2 as many rooms and a very small lobby area, not as fancy as the dolphin lobby area.

The Swan has more convention type people staying at it, which makes it much quieter.

Either is a great choice.

Either would be a good choice for location since we feel that the Epcot area resorts are the best! We stayed at the Swan and loved it. As for the con side, I think the Dolphin has full size beds instead of queens like the Swan. The windows are different in the Dolphin too; they look much like the big porthole windows we had aboard the Wonder. Don't know whether that is a pro or a con!

Those big porthole windows are only in a select few rooms. Other than that, they're similar in both resorts!

The higher up you are at the Swan/Dolphin, the better your chances for a great view!

The Swan is our choice over Dolphin, just because of size. Staff seems to be more attentive also.

Doesn't one resort have double beds and one queen beds?

I like the Swan better as a hotel. But, the Dolphin is closer to the pool, it has the laundry and the health club and it has Tubbie's. It's a bit of a hike to all of them from the Swan.

We stayed at the Swan one year and was very disappointed in the hotel.
It seemed everything was over at the Dolphin and it took some time to get over there. All the action was over there. There also a convention going on and very crazy. We felt like it wasn't a very Disney atmosphere. Form your own opinion. Good Luck!

Swan over Dolphin...Swan=Westin, Dolphin=Sheraton. The Heavenly Bed wins everytime ;-)
Ok, now I'm confused. I thought they were both Westin hotels. They're both listed on the Westin website, but then so are a bunch of Sheratons.

I've only stayed at the Dolphin, not the Swan, but I thought I was sleeping on a Heavenly Bed, and I can tell you for sure that it was the most amazing night of sleep I ever had - *so* comfortable.

The Sheraton and Westin are part of the Starwood Group. They also run "W", Sheraton Four Points, Luxury Collection & St. Regis. So it's like they're all sister resorts.

Thanks, that makes sense. So, do the Swan and Dolphin then both have the "Heavenly Beds"?

pirate: When I called the Swan@Dolphin reservation line just last night I was informed that both resorts have these types of beds. Hope this answers your question. If you want to make sure just call them at 1-800-227-1500. Chip.

Dolphin if you have children-> refillable mugs area , laundry, game room, closer to grotto pool. closer to BC character breakfast, rrom seem to have more space.

Swan if you have no kids -> closer to Boardwalk, less kids

Actually Sheraton has the "Sweet Sleeper Bed", and Westin has "The Heavenly Bed". They are both premium beds, but the Westin product is still higher end...it has a fabulous duvet cover. Both beds overall, are very nice.
