We have a reservation at the Swan. I asked the Swan reservation desk about an upgraded room and was told the Swan had "studios" and the Dolphin had "junior suites". The junior suites are more than we are interested in paying even at discounted rates, but the Swan studio is a possibility. Unfortunately it is not even mentioned on their website, so I know virtually nothing about them

Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms?
What is the layout? amenities?
How much larger than a standard room are they?
Are they worth paying an extra $70-80 per night for a family of 4?
Anything else?

I've never stayed in the Swan studio, but, will be happy to provide you with the floorplan and some info.

I know there are several people on these boards who have stayed in these rooms. I'm sure they'll reply soon.

Thanks, Poohlovr!
I scoured the swandolphin website!
Who would have guessed that this would be under Meetings/Meeting Space/Meetings and Conventions/Floorplans? Especially when floorplans for all the other guestrooms are found in a more natural place!

Has anyone stayed in a Swan studio room? I know it is 500 sq feet but what is the size of a standard room at the Swan? Thanks!

The studio rooms are very nice, but one thing to keep in mind is that they have one king bed and a sofa sleeper. There were three of us when we stayed and we took turns on the sofa. I found it to be perfectly fine to sleep on, but certainly not the same as the heavenly bed.

As to room sizes, I think a standard room is 360 sq ft.

The studio room does give you more overall room to stretch out in, obviously. The extra room is in the seating area, with the conference table and tables against the wall. In fact, one of those tables was actually a large desk with extra drawers and internet connection. We found the extra drawer space to be very handy.

I haven't stayed in a standard Swan room, so I can only tell you about the studio. It was really lovely and the three of us were more than comfortable there. I'm not sure I would pay $70 more a night, but that's just me.

Whichever you chose, I'm sure you're going to enjoy the Swan. It's a beautiful resort, the service is top-notch and you just can't beat the location.

Enjoy!

We stayed CL at Swan 12/28-1/02/04. 2 queen heavenly beds, large reading chair with light and long desk with drawers(one of which is mini-bar). Standard set up for resort room, but very comfortable.

PS we really enjoyed the CL lounge for the breakfast, hor's d'heurves and the very friendly cm(inlcuding Thabo). We certainly got our money's worth for 3 of us. We also got water for the parks in the am(although you do have to ask them, but never a problem). Turn down service was also a nice perk.
