swan questions

i have a few questions about the Swan. We have recieved the teacher discount. are there any other discounts i could combine. Are there places to use the refillable mug there. And does the room price include length of stay passes to the parks. What about food for children.......... can anybody answer these or give me any other advise......

I'm not sure about "combining" your already discounted room.

The Swan and Dolphin does have refillable mugs, they are designed like the kind you can get at a Starbucks (handle-less tumbler kind of mug.) The only place you can get it refilled (to my knowledge) is over at the Dolphin across the courtyard in Tubbi's Buffeteria.

Can't comment on the price/length of stay pass because we always buy our park tickets in advance.

Children can eat in Tubbi's, as well as all the other eating establishments at the S/D.

When we were there last you could do a LOS pass, however, if you do not plan on visiting the resorts every day a normal pass if you can get it at a discount rate would be a better bet for you.

No standard room rates at any of the Disney resorts or S/D include your passes. You can get them with certain packages such as the promotion last summer for buy so many days get so many free - I believe that one included tickets.

With the excellent teacher discount, I don't believe there are any others you could combine with it. You could check to see if you were eligible for any others that actually could be cheaper such as AP, etc.

Tubbis & the Dolphin fountain are both great places to eat. I believe the new Fresh is good too from what I have read so far. Check the menu board out for help there. We ate several times at Tubbis and loved it. If you want to get your mugs, they used to be kept at the checkout - make sure you go up and get one before you get your beverage the first time. If I had not known they had them, I would have missed out the first time and purchased a regular glass of soda.

Kids would like the ESPN club too. If you sit in the bar area at one of the booths, you can swap your DL for controllers for the video games so they can play while they are eating. (unless something has changed recently!)

We are staying at the Swan in June and are planning to purchase LOS passes (now called UPH - Ultimate Park Hopper). From what I have been able to come up with, they can be purchased at the Disney Desk in the Swan, but there is no discount, even if you purchase in advance. They are willing to take off either the first day and/or last day of your stay if your time on those days is too short to make use of them. I am planning to purchase it for the entire LOS so we have the most freedom. It is still cheaper to do it that way (room only with teacher discount, passes separately), than to purchase the dreammaker package. And none of the new Disney VISA promotions (7 for 4, or room only discount, or Disney VISA summer dreammaker package) have been available for the Swan. So I'm still happy with our arrangement. Love that teacher rate !

I am just worried about the refillable cup situation. If I stay at the resort that does not have the refillable cups, would I then need to walk over to the resort that does? I am confused. HELP!!!!!

It is a short walk over to Tubbi's from the Swan. The Swan does not have a market or fast food restaurant like the other "deluxe" resorts. Just walk across to Tubbi's to get your mugs and refill them. The Swan used to give a "credit" if you push the advance purchase LOS entrance price, at least they did when the policy changed right before our last stay at the Swan. I stayed at the Swan this past August using the teacher discount. You will love the Heavenly beds! We also enjoyed being in the center of everything.

You can buy park tickets a ticket counter in the lobby. They also offer the Ultimate Park Hopper pass, which is usually only offered to guests who book a package with a WDW resort. We had to check in before we could buy our UPH because we had to show proof that we were staying there. There were other types of tickets that you could buy as well.

As for the discount, we were not allowed to combine with any discounts available.
