I have just booked the Swan for a stay in August on the club level. Hopefully, this is a good thing. I know nothing about the property other than what I have been able to read here on the board. Now my questions please.....
Does the pool have a water slide?
Can you use the facilites at the Dolphin also?
Is there a charge for daily parking?
Are there any restaurants that are moderatly priced on the premises or close by?
And Last.........Was this a good choice or would the dolphin or a different hotel be a better one?
Thanks so much for all your information.. I truly enjoy reading all the postings...ask my husband, he hasn't seen me or his computer for a week now!!

The Swan is a wonderful resort!

The Grotto Pool does have a slide! My boys love it!

The Swan and Dolphin are "sister" resorts, so you can enjoy the amenities at both!

Self parking is free. Valet parking is available though.

There are lots of dining options in and around the Swan and Dolphin! Tubbi's Buffeteria located on the lower level of the Dolphin is their version of a food court. There is also a little soda fountain type place called the Dolphin Fountain.

The Boardwalk, which is a quick walk over the bridge also has many places for you to choose from, but if you are looking for something "inexpensive" you'll have to leave WDW property!

Regarding which resort to chose, having stayed at both, I like the festive feel of the Dolphin, but the bigger beds (queen size) at the Swan. I also prefer the bathroom set up at the Swan, which is what they call a "hollywood bath." Either resort is a good choice in my opinion!

You have received some good advice from Blondie. All I can add is my opinion of the Dolphin! We just got back 1/13 and LOVED it! It was our first stay at the Dolphin and loved the grandness of this resort. We LOVED the beach theme, the piano player in the lobby, the grotto pool and access to Epcot, MGM and Boardwalk! Have a magical time! Happy planning!

Yes the swan is a very good choice. The grotto pool is awesome, you will be pleasantly surprised. Parking is free and not too far of a walk and plenty of parking spaces.

They are both great hotels but if i had to pick i'd say the Dolphin just for the Lobby and the feel of the place. I really felt like I was living it up there. However I do agree that the double sinks in the bathrooms at the Swans make that a great pick. Also, the Swan is better if you're worried about getting lost. The size is much more managable!

Regardless, have a great time!

What would be the room numbers (Swan) in the wing closest to the grotto pool? Can you suggest a room number that would be Smoking, Balcony, 2 beds. What kind of view do the club level rooms have, and do any of these have balconies?

Actually - for easy access - we stayed in the center area - a few doors down to the elevator. Down to the lobby and out the walk and off to the pool!!!

Our room - 1262 - had a view of back side of Boardwalk, Epcot Ball - MGM/Fantasmic area to the right and parking lot straight out. We could see the DTD area off in the distance - Cirque building, etc.

We loved the Hollywood bath - DS was on phone in bathroom with his girlfriend for privacy - DD could still get ready for bed.

Could you see Illuminations from 1262? I don't guess you would have any pictures to post of the view? Thanks

Lois,

They will give your kids a little book to stamp if you all explore the Swan and Dolphin which will give you a free ice cream at the Dolphin Fountain.
