I just booked the Swan for the $99 a night special, I also have POR booked with the AAA discount. The prices equal out to almost the same within a few dollars of each other. Which one should I keep please help Thanks in advance.

Definitely the Swan. The location is great, and it is a deluxe resort, as opposed to the moderate POR. The Swan has the Westin hotels' Heavenly Beds and they are truly that. If you are going close to Christmas, you will appreciate being so close to Epcot/MGM/Boardwalk. You can walk to Epcot and Boardwalk and take a quick boat ride to MGM. The bus service to AK/MK is also very good. The grotto pool at the Swan/Dolphin is very nice, too!

Wow! That is a great rate for the Swan I almost would say not to pass that up!! But I also love the POR, it is so nice to walk along the river, the grounds are amazingly beautiful. The Swan is also beautiful though!! I guess it depends on what you want out of your vacation. If you think you will spend a lot of time at Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk then your best bet is going to be at the Swan. The Swan is in the heart of the action and the location can't be beat!! The pools are nice at both but the Heavenly beds at the Swan are wonderful people say (haven't stayed there since the new beds were put in) But if I just wanted to relax around the resort and have more of a slow paced vacation or if I wasn't planning on being at Epcot, MGM or the Boardwalk that much I would choose POR. What a hard choice for you!!! I love the Swan but can't escape the theming and beauty of POR. Good luck deciding, it is going to be a hard one!! :Pinkbounc

I agree. I think the convenience of the Epcot resort area can't be beat, especially at that price! The convenience of being able to walk or boat to Epcot, MGM Studios and the Boardwalk is great! Epcot is our favorite park so we end up there almost every night to watch Illuminations and Tapestry of Dreams. We have POR ressies for Feb, but if I can get an AP discount even close to my AAA rate at POR we'll go for it.

This isn't to say POR isn't a great resort either, it's got great theming and is on the waterway to Downtown Disney. I'd say it'd be a more laid back environment which would be nice after a busy day running around the parks. What I've heard (and what I remember of it) is that the food court is decent too. While the S&D have lots of restaurant choices I don't know if they have a food court.

One minor con of the S&D is that you can't charge items to your room while in the theme parks, like you can at the other Disney resorts.

It still comes down to personal choice, but from the financial and benefits aspect, you're getting a deluxe room for the same price as a moderate. Have a great trip!

are you getting my point?LOL!!! We stayed at the swan in Sep. for a $99.00 rate and fell in LOVE with the place!!! Super location, Super rooms, Super pool!!!!! Just SUPER!!!;)

I think that rate is for Dec. dates....which means that if you are a disney Club member you get 20% off all restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin!!!! saved us some serious $$ while we were there!!! (Shulas is not discounted:( )(Tubbies is) definatly check out the goodies at the Dolphin Fountain!!!! Yummy!:p

Thanks everyone I am going to stick with the Swan and cancel POR 3 more weeks YEAH:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just in case you might change back... DON'T!
I have stayed at both... the Swan can't be beat! Location, Location, Location, with a heavenly bed to boot!
