Swan or Dolphin?

Hey all!

Trying to plan an unexpected few nights at WDW which happens to be in the middle of spring break. When I FINALLY got through to CRO, there were no discounts available and rack rate for the moderates is the same as we can get at the Swan or Dolphin so we thought it would be as good a time as any to give them a try since the location seems great.

Having never stayed at either, can anyone recommend one over the other? Any specific views to request? Any restaurants we should try (only been to Shulas so far)?

Thanks for the help!
PJ

Dolphin has double beds, Swan has queen sized. they both share a common pool etc. so that won't be any help! We stayed Dolphin--it was great, I can't say enough nice things about it! Though if I had a choice I would have gone with Swan because of the bed size.

Thanks, we've booked a king size bed so that won't be an issue.

Since the Swan is a Westin and the Dolphin a Sheraton I didn't know if there was a big difference but I love the Heavenly beds at Westins.

Dolphin is my favorite Disney resort of all. I've stayed at Swan and liked it, but like Dolphin better. It has better views, seems livlier, has a beautiful lobby. My boys and I are going in June and desperately want Dolphin, but they're showing they're booked for 1/2 of our trip. Good luck, you'll love either one.

We've only stayed at the swan, I know there are probably more restraunts at the dolphin. We like the swan because its not so big, its more compact and thus not a huge hike back to your room after a long day in the parks. We also like being the 1st bus stop. Can't beat that. They are both great I guess.

Thanks again for the input! We drive or walk (MGM or Epcot from Swan) to the parks so buses aren't an issue for us. We have made a PS for Todd English's Blue Zoo in the Dolphin already so maybe it won't be too bad if our DVC wait list doesn't come through. ;)

Well, just got a call today that our wait list for a studio for all our nights came through at SSR so guess I'll cancel the Swan. I'm staying on the wait list for the other DVC resorts since we'd like to try something new but am just happy to have a room on DVC points which saves money out of pocket.
