Which one would you choose and why?

We have a chance to do a few days before and after a cruise at one or the other and we don't know anything about them.

Thanks for any advice.:D

Sam- can't answer your question, but have you heard anything about a $99 rate before or after a cruise. No one at reservations seems to know what I'm talking about, but I'm sure I saw it. They say it must be through DCL, but I don't think so.

I would choose the Dolphin, I prefer the Dolphin to the Swan because I like the king rooms there more (two balconies).

Also Tubbis (a little store/restaurant) is at the Dolphin. I just prefer the Dolphin over the Swan :)

Well, I think you would be happy at either.

My personal preference is the Swan, but I have not stayed at the Dolphin. I just loved the Swan this summer.

To me the size of the Dolphin is just too intimidating. And I can be at Tubbis or the laundry in 5 minutes from my room at the Swan. It actually forces me to get out and get a little exercise!

The Queen beds at the Swan are very comfy and the Heavenly Beds are on their way!

We've stayed at the Swan 5 times and at the Dolphin once...soon to be twice:)

I have to admit I like the Dolphin just a bit better than the Swan. It took a lot of convincing from a "friend" (he he he) to try the Dolphin because I was convinced I'd like the Swan better. The Swan is smaller and a little more intimate which is nice and why I liked it and wouldn't try the Dolphin.

When we finally stayed at the Dolphin we realized how (even more) convenient everything was. Tubbi's was just an elevator ride away. The pool was a short walk away (both pools that is)...the sunrise from our balcony on the first morning was breath-taking.

But, I have to admit the best view we've EVER had at any hotel we've EVER stayed at on Disney property was at the Swan when we stayed at a studio room in the main part of the hotel. We had a panaromic view of the BW, EPCOT (including the Illuminations fireworks) and even off in the distance we could see the MK fireworks and the CR on the horizon, it was just amazing!

Both resorts have great CMs and great service. I like Gulliver's the best of all of the full service restaurants which is located at the Swan (but it is just a short walk from the Dolphin).

If you like "liveliness" then you'd like the Dolphin more, if you like "intimacy" then the Swan is more for you. The other difference is that the Swan has 2 queen beds vs the 2 doubles the Dolphin has. And, the Swan has 2 sinks vs 1 sink and a vanity area at the Dolphin. Didn't really matter much to us, the double beds makes for more room in the room, the vanity made for more room for our stuff:) You should be comfortable at either:) ENJOY!

My family went through this decision a couple of summers ago, and we must have posted a dozen questions to help with the decision. We chose the Dolphin, and didn't have any regrets. The Swan does have queen beds and the dolphin has doubles, but that didn't bother us. The rooms at the Dolphin are a little bigger, and the Dolphin has a much nicer lobby and is more the main hotel. It has the 24 hr restraunt and the laundry room, and it would be a slightly long walk (especially in the rain with laundry) to do laundry from the Swan. There are more rooms with balconies at the Dolphin, and they actually upgraded us to a room with a balcony from a standard room when we checked in. But I guess the bottom line is that both hotels are similar, and most people seem to love and recommend whichever one they happened to stay at. You can't really go wrong. Have fun!!

I love them both and I'm sure you'll love whichever you choose, but I would suggest that since it is such a tough decision, you try the Dolphin first and make sure you visit the Swan so you'll know better the next time you get to go, although I have been there several times and I STILL can't make up my mind. :)

I like the bathroom set-up at the Swan over the one at the Dolphin. (The Swan refers to it as a "Hollywood" bath, sounds kind of ritzy, huh?!) And the queen size beds are an extra perk.

But the Dolphin has the festivity that I prefer, more of a bright lights, big city atmosphere and more conveniences within the hotel!

At first, I thought I'd prefer the Swan based on photos I had seen and reviews I had read, so the first time I tried the Swan. Had a great time and a lovely room and view.

The next time I just wanted to try "the other one" and the Dolphin blew me away!

You can get great views from either hotel.

Here is the view we had from our balcony at the Swan which consisted of the sandy beach area at the Grotto Pool, the general resort area and part of Crescent Lake.

Here is the view we had from our balcony at the Dolphin, which consisted of part of the Boardwalk area, bridge to Yacht & Beach Club and the most spectacular view of the Epcot Ball! At night it was absolutely beautiful! And we could see the fireworks from Illuminations nightly!

Thanks guys...

There was a promotion on about 3 night at either one after a 4 day cruise...If it is still on next year we want to try it. I still don't know about which one to stay at but that view of Epcot that Blondie shows is really nice so I'm leaning that way.

Sorry but I have not seen the $99 deal. That sounds good though and I will let you know if I figure out where it was.

thanks
all
