I am thinking about booking the teacher rate (I know, it just went up :( ) For just a standard room, which would be better, The Swan or Dolphin? I want to be as close to bus stops/main areas as possible. And a view of some sort would be nice too :) Also,m would a King Bed cost more, or are there King-bed standards?

The choice between the Swan or Dolphin really depends on what you want---quiet and more intimate, but with few "inexpensive" places to eat and fewer amenities (i.e.--laundry in the building) or bigger, busier, more festive and, some say, more convenient , with the less expensive restaraunts and the laundry(Dolphin).

They share buses to and from the parks and each has it's own bus stop in front of the respective hotel. They share the boat dock for the MGM/Epcot Friendships, so, transportation is not a consideration.

Both offer king size standard rooms. The Dolphin, being the larger resort, has more rooms with views, but, also has more rooms with less than desirable views.

While parts of the Dolphin are closer to the Grotto pool than the Swan rooms, there are also some Dolphin rooms that are farther away from the Grotto than some Swan rooms.

Hope this helps....or. at least hope that it didn't muddy the water even more for you!

We've stayed at Dolphin twice and although we keep wanting to try Swan, we love the Dolphin so much that we're returning again this June.

We love having Tubbi's right there and the views from the Dolphin are spectacular. I'm sure there are good views at Swan, but since Dolphin is so much taller, they just can't be quite as good - IMO. We also love the lobby of the Dolphin and the shooting stars.

We had a king bedroom for our anniversary at teacher rate. They even upgraded us for free to a fabulous corner room with the most amazing views.

From what I understand, Swan has slightly larger beds if you're getting a room with 2 beds. Dolphin has 2 doubles and Swan has two Queens.

We really like to Dolphin and would return. We stayed on the teacher rate as well and stayed in room 16109. Check out our website for photos when you have time.

Just back. We stayed two nights at the Swan (gov't rate of $129 per night) and 3 nights at Coronado Springs.

We loved the Swan. Our "limited view" room looked directly over MGM and Fantasmic. The room was large with 2Q beds. The staff was great.

It was a bit of a hike to the Grotto, but what a pool! And we got addicted to the big chocolate chip cookies at the Dolphin Cafe.

We'll be back when they get the Westin "Heavenly Beds".
