We are thinking about staying our last 2 nights at the Swan or Dolphin in January (the other 5 days will be at AKV).

They have a teacher/nurse rate for $139. Has anyone stayed at one of these 2 resorts? I don't know which one we should stay at. Any ideas would be appreciated.

decorations and accommodations are very similar, the one that does not have the pointed roof... forgive me I never remember which is which. I think it is Swan, it is somewhat less a convention hotel, as it has a smaller convention space.

Have stayed at the Dolphin. Very nice. Heavenly beds are wonderful. Picabu Cafe open 24 hours is very good. There are usually a bunch of conventioneers hanging out at the lobby bar, so the lobby's usually pretty packed. You get great views of Epcot and the Boardwalk and can walk to either of those parks in just a few minutes, or take the boats. We loved our stay at the Dolphin.

The Swan and Dolphin are very similar in design, but the Dolphin is the "main" resort out of the two. The Swan is quiet and more relaxed, and the Dolphin is more vibrant and upbeat. Also, the quick service restaurant (Picabu) is in the Dolphin, so you would have to walk over to get soft drinks, quick meals, snacks, and mug refills if you choose to stay at the Swan. :)

I highly recommend them. We chose the Swan both times based on it being smaller so we thought it would be easier to get around in. We love the Epcot Resort area - many dining options and close walk or boat ride to Epcot or DHS.

The shared main Grotto pool is beautiful and though it is closer to the Dolphin, the Swan has a more traditional pool right next to it. The Swan has a nice health club, playground, basketball & tennis courts. It would be a really nice resort even if it were not right next to WDW. The best thing about the Swan: Comfyest beds on Disney property.

Our stays here have been among our family's favorite trips to the world.

we stayed at the dolphin this past march and it was very nice. we walked over to the swan a few times to check it out. the dolphin is busier and quite larger. the swan has queen beds and the dolphin full sized. dh and i have a king bed at home and i thought the full would be small but it was fine we were just cozy for a few days :) both resorts and very nice, we chose the dolphin because we got a great rate, but i wouldn't hestitate to stay at the swan.

if this helps you out at all, the dolphin is a sherton and the swan is a westin.

have a great trip!

As a veteran of many WDW resorts and hotels, I can say that IMHO, both of these places are well worth the money.:thumbsup2

They are clean, well landscaped, close to Epc & DHS etc.
There is really nothing NOT to like.

(and you got an excellent rate)
Compare that to $300+ at GF,CR,Poly and there really is no comparison. You can stay and eat (and probably pay for some of your ticket) for what you would pay just for the room @ WDW deluxe's::yes:: .

We like the swan. It is smaller, and usually quieter, and most importantly to us, has queen beds in the two room configuration, while the dolphin has doubles.

But the best thing about both resorts is being so close to epcot, the studios, and the boardwalk for way less than you'd pay for the YC, BC, or BW, especially if you qualify for one of the discounts.

thanks to all....seems like the swan is the way to go for us!! We love being around Epcot too. We stayed at BCV in May and hubby and I will be at Boardwalk in October.
