Please help us! We are planning a trip to WDW this year. We have stayed at many other WDW sites but have been curious about the Swan/Dolphin. Our family consists of 3...me, DH and DS(10). If you know about the rooms, food/food courts, access to WDW transportation/parks...please help! Thanks in advance for your input!
:thanks:

both s/d are very beautiful resorts. the dolphin is larger and seemed to have more families. the swan is very nice too! the swan has queen beds and the dolphin has full sized. the dolphin has great places to eat, picabus is open 24 hours and is a great place to grab a quick breakfast. the foutain has some nice salads and sandwiches and ice cream treats! the pool is closer to the swan but the walk from the dolphin isn't a big deal. as far as the buses go they aren't very good going to the ak. we shared with 5 resorts and with blizzard beach. so we found it to be very slow and very packed. but s/d are very close to epcot (you can walk or take the boat) and to dhs. we stayed at the dolphin because it offered a great rate during our travel dates. however next time i would chose the swan just to try it out. (i like to stay at different resorts each trip)

both offer heavenly beds and starbucks coffee!

if this helps you out at all the dolphin is a sheraton and the swan is a westin.

if you decide to stay at either one you might want to become a starwood member (register on line it is free) and you get an upgrade your first stay if they are able.

have a great trip!

you can pm me if you have anymore question :goodvibes

If you are into a more quiet boutique type hotel, try the Swan.
(they share the same pool as you probably know)
If you like a lot a action and restaurant choices, try the Dolphin.
As far as the room itself, to me it''s 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
I like them both, but we usually stay at the Dolphin because its normally $10-20 per night less expensive.
As a side note, the $10. per night "resort" fee you pay at both hotels, entitles you to wireless internet and the 2 bottles of water in your room.

Have fun!:thumbsup2

We have stayed at both but prefer the Swan because it is less crowded with conventioners

Swan, though both are nice. They are acutally very similar. They share boats and pools.

Buses come to Swan first and drop off there first.
Not sure if this is still true, but Swan used to have bigger beds.
Swan has better views.
Swan has double sink outside the bathroom, I can't recall if the Dolphin only has one sink, or both are in bathroom...but there is some difference in the sinks that makes Swan better.

Rates at Swan are slightly higher.
Dolphin has both QS restaurant (refillable mugs)and laundry facilities. The Swan kind of has a QS place, but it is only open in the am.
The Dolphin is slightly closer to the big pool (and there pool area has a better poolside dining/bar area)

I know they have changed the restranuts since I was last there. Only the Swan has a character meal.
