Swan or Boardwalk???????? Help!

Hello all!! I know that the 2008 rates have not come out yet but I am trying to decide whether to stay at Swan or Boardwalk???? I am planning my honeymoon for June 2008 so it will be just me and my fiance. Does anyone have any advice or opinions on which resort is maybe better for us??? Anything at all would be a great help. At Boardwalk, we were looking into the Garden Suite which seems like it would be awesome but I am not sure if there is anything like that at Swan. Thanks to all your help in advance!

If money is not a factor, I would definitely go with the BW. My wife and I were married at the wedding pavilion back in 2003, and we stayed in a Garden Suite during our stay.

Not that there is anything wrong with the Swan or Dolphin, we have stayed there also, but they do not compare with the BW, esp the Garden Suites.

Those things are true about the Swan as well, since the hotels are only a couple hundred yards apart.

That being said, I do agree with the Boardwalk recommendation, as it does truly immerse you in the Disney magic (which is slightly lacking at Swan).

Boardwalk hands down. I've stayed at both and I don't plan on staying at the Swan or Dolphin again. Nothing against them - it's just they don't have the Disney spirit that I like.

We would definitely go with the BoardWalk. The resort grounds are beautiful and like everyone else said, u can't beat the magical disney feel you get when you stay there, unlike the Swan.

I think you should go with the Boardwalk because it is owned by disney and is a very nice resort

The Swan does have some beautiful suites, but not anything that I'm aware of that's quite as romantic as the BW Garden Suites. Unless you are able to get a gov/teacher/nurse discount, I'd go with a Boardwalk suite. The Boardwalk is a little closer to Epcot, so that's a plus too.

Definately the BWI We have stayed in both resorts but fell in love with the BWI. If money is no object, try and book concierge. The staff in the Innkeepers Lounge are the best hands down The swan does have some nice rooms, grounds, and places to eat. Walking to Epcot from the Boardwalk is somewhat closer than the swan. You will have a fantastic time no matter which resort you choose.

I am totally going to stay at the Boardwalk Inn now that EVERYONE has posted that hands down, Boardwalk is the better choice. I can't wait to go now, but first I need to book our trip. Can't wait for those 2008 rates to come out!!!

Another question, what is concierge?? It is a service that you add to your reservation? Thanks for the help. Just very new at all of this.

Concierge if offered for an additional fee. At the Boardwalk you will have access to a private lounge called the Innkeeper's Club. Some of the amenities offered are..continental breakfast from 7-10 (bagels, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee, tee, juice. From 11:30-4 they have snack time. This includes lemonade, ice tea, soda, water, pretzals, chips, fish crackers, coffee, tea, cappuccino. From 5-7 pm they offer 2 hot items, vegs with dips, different kinds of cheeses with crackers, wine, beer. From 8-10 is dessert, cordials. Also the lounge offeres a great view to watch Illuminations. The staff is incredible. They are able to make ADR's, confirm your airline reservation, etc. Hopefully I was able to answer some of your questions.

Oh wow! The Innkeeper's club amenities sound awesome!! Is that included in the Disney Dining Plan? I am not sure if I will go with the Disney Dining Plan depending on if the rumors are true about the gratutity being removed from there. Not sure if it would be worth it if tip is not included.

concierge is a level of service you receive when booking that category room. It is like booking standard view or preferred . You can book concierge which gets you more of a hands on type of service from the staff in the concierge dept. . They will contact you sometime after you book your room and help you with taking care of items that need to be done for you to enjoy your vacation . They will book you adr's for you and make suggestions on things you can do and as a previous poster said all of the food and beverages they put out in the lounge. They will also bring you right to the concierge area for a private check-in and such. I really love the Poly's lounge.

I am going to be the dissenter here. I would go with the Swan for the following reasons

1. Much nicer beds (it's your honeymoon, you want a nice bed LOL!)
2. Much more reasonable pricing. As a general rule (unless you hit a convention or somthing) the Swan has better pricing. IMHO it's hard to justify the prices Disney charges for the product they provide.

Now if you go concerige you are going to have to BW as the Swan doesn't offer that anymore....
