I know there's an east and west location. Is one better then the other? Are there any other choices? I won't be staying Club if that makes a difference.

Are some rooms better then others? Like are there any rooms newly refurbished, etc?

As far as location goes we prefer the east wing or the east side. This faces the BW/YC/BC area as well as EPCOT (of course if your room is on the east side of the hallway). The higher up you are the better chance you have of viewing Illuminiations at Epcot.

There is an east wing with balcony rooms or if you stay in the main building the rooms at the end of the hall furtherest east will give you some fabulous views of the area. We were in a studio room (like a jr suite) on the 8th floor and had the most amazing view of Illuminiations and even could see the MK fireworks in the distance and the CR lit up at night on the horizon. The only drawback here is there are not balconies but I was happy just sitting in the window watching.

All of the rooms at the Swan are now renovated. They are beautiful and the heavenly beds are just that!! I don't know how we can stay anywhere else after our last stay there!
