Swan Info-staying First Time

There is a new restaurant at the Dolphin called FRESH. It is a meditaranian breakfest and lunch buffet. Everything is made fresh! People are raving about it on the restaurant board. We will be trying Fresh very soon during our stay at the Dolphin. Blue Zoo is also supose to open around Jan 1st at the Dolphin. This is famous Boston chef Todd English's newest restaurant.

We are staying at the Swan 3/1-3/6 (chosen over D because it is smaller, and totally renovated). I am wondering about the pool question. If we want to be closest to the grotto pool, I wonder which end of the Swan we should be on? Are all Dolphin rooms closer to the grotto pool than any Swan rooms? Our little ones are 2 and 4 so I wonder if we should rethink?!

Mainebound -some Dolphin rooms are farther away from the grotto pool than some Swan rooms. We stayed in the east wing of the Swan and didn't find the walk all that much longer than when we stayed in the center section at the Dolphin. The Swan quiet pool is lovely, too and much closer. I saw many families with children the about the same age as yours enjoying the quiet pool. They had the pool practically to themselves since so few people were at the quiet pool.

Thanks Mouseteacher! I hadn't thought of using the quiet pool -- maybe because "quiet" is the last thing I associate with my two boys! :D

Mouseteacher--We stayed in the East Wing at the Dolphin and were the farthest away from the grotto pool. (Although I didn't really mind the walk. We put the kids in the stroller.) The West Wing of the Dolphin is much closer to the pool. Is there some way the East Wing of the Swan can be closer to the grotto pool than the West Wing of the Swan? I'm confused.

What is the pros and cons of staying at the east / west wing of the Dolphin. Is the east wing closer to Epcot and have better views? I'm getting a little confused!!

You're right Sherri - the west wing of the Dolphin is the closest to the grotto pool overall. I was comparing my walk from the CL floor (center section) of the Dolphin to the walk from the east wing of the Swan. It was somewhat longer from the Swan but not so that I felt it to be a hassle.

Mainebound- I think the term "quiet pool" is just a term because quiet pools are without slides. Many families were enjoying the relatively low use of the Swan quiet pool (as did I) with so much room to spread out around the pool, too. The Grotto pool was definitely much busier. To access the quiet pool, you walk through the lobby and down the hall by Kimono's and then exit out to the walkway that is right next to the pool. It is quite easy and most of the walking is indoors - great when the weather is in the 90s.
