swan hotel

We stayed in the Swan and had a really great time. The location is fantastic at the Boardwalk. I didn't feel we missed out on any of the Disney magic. They even have a great character breakfast at the Garden Grove. The only reason I have gone to other resorts is to get the free dining plan which you can't get at the Swan. I would recommend staying if you get a good deal. It's a great hotel.

I think if you post this on the Resorts board, you'll get responses. You've posted this under Limited Time Magic, and probably no one is seeing it.
I really like both the Swan & Dolphin. They are deluxe resorts, at a moderate price. Great pool and pool bar, really good dining options, and the Epcot resorts location.
You don't get Disney's Magical Express, magic bands or the ability to prebook FP+. You also can't get the dining plan if that is important to you. No using your room key for charging in the parks or resorts, except you may charge at the S/D. You do get EMHs.

The DH and I have been wanting to stay at the Swan since our first trip together in 2000, because our last name is Swann. On our most recent trip, we spent one night at the Swan before checking into the AKL. The staff was nice and resolved a problem very quickly. We checked in after a long drive from Biloxi, MS, and went straight to DtD for a movie. When we got back to our room, we went to take showers. The shower wouldn't work. The knob you turned the water on, clearly had a broken piece in it. I think it took less than 30 minutes from the time I called the front desk to the time the first shower was taken. The carpet in the hallway, at least on the floor we were on, needed replacing badly. It was worn and had waves in places from being lose (which totally makes sense in my mind while being sick). There were a few small things in the room that made it seem like it needed an update. It just felt like it needed a little TLC.

DW and I stayed at the swan in 2010 and everything was in great shape. The beds are by far and away the most comfortable I've slept on in WDW. Also there are some awesome dining options at Swan and Dolphin. Boat entrance into HS and Epcot is icing on the cake. Planning a trip for august and booked a room at the Dolphin this time to change it up. All in all I would totally recommend the Swan.
