Anyone stayed in the Swan/Dolphin resort before ?
I know it is not a Disney hotel ,but it is beside the boardwalk
and a lot cheaper then staying at the beach club or the boardwalk resort

DH loves Port Orleans but I like to try something different and at the moment there is not that much difference in price
Once we get to DWD we do not want to change resorts as we have a few stops along the way

Thanks for any info

We've stayed at the Dolphin four times in the past, and have two trips lined up this year, too.

IMHO, you get more bang for the buck at the Swan / Dolphin, in that it's a deluxe resort with a terrific location.

If you choose to stay there, you can sign up (for free) and earn Starwood Points at www.SPG.com.

Maybe we'll see you there in October:)

For our trip of 2 weeks ago, our choice was POFQ or the Swan for the same price. We usually stay at the Polynesian, but the Swan price was less than half what they wanted at the Polynesian for a regular ol' GV room. We went with the Swan knowing that we'd be going to the Polynesian again outside of peak season.

The Swan was very nice. Great transportation to MGM and EPCOT via boat. Lots of nice resort facilities. Great (but crowded) Grotto pool. Wonderful Westin Heavenly Beds! We liked it so much (and my wife is PICKY!) that they almost converted us permanently away from the Polynesian! And if they ever install tiki torches along the walkways at the S/D, they just might!

I think the Swan / Dolphin represent the "true" value resorts at WDW since they are truly resorts with all of the amenities of a resort. Including a concierge at no additional charge. No concierge lounge though for snacks. That's o.k. in my book. Have a great vacation!

Hubby and I love Swan/Dolphin and we have stayed at both too many times to count.

If your hubby loves PO, he is going to think he is in heaven being at Swan or Dolphin.

You are right, the rates are excellent. Along with that the staff is excellent, the rooms are clean. They have the big comfy beds, wonderful linens, wonderful soaps and shampoos. Staying at Dolphin is one of the few times I actually don't have to pack soap/shampoo.

Very convenient location.

Can anyone tell me about the pool slide? Also does the Dolphin still have double beds instead of queen? thanks

Sorry, haven't done the slide (our kids love it, though).

I believe the beds at the Dolphin are considered "oversize double" or something like that.
I'm pretty sure they measure up to between a traditional double, and a queen size.
