Swan/Dolphin vs Moderates

We've stayed at two moderates (CBR & CSR) and are mulling where we want to stay during our next trip.

How much of a "step up" are the Swan & Dolphin over the moderates?

Also, does anyone know when the 2008 rates (and discounts) for the S&D will be out.

If the price is about the same, I would always chose the Swan or Dolphin over a moderate. You need to add in the cost of parking (if you will have a car) in your costs. Plus if you use valet parking, the valet fee you pay does not carry over to valet at the Disney owned resorts. I love the Swan & Dolphin - great location to Epcot & MGM, heavenly beds, excellent service. I like these resorts as much as many of the Disney deluxe resorts.

To me it is a HUGE step up. The rooms are so much nicer (bigger) and the beds are so dang comfortable! The location is perfect IMO. I just don't like that they now charge people who stay there for parking. Biggest downfall of teh whole resort.

I just booked last week (called the hotel directly) and was able to get the AAA rate for my July 2008 trip.

Don't forget the extra cost of not having free ME transportation.
Back & forth to the airport can be pricey.

Absolutely LOVE the Dolphin! Also love POFQ. While the Dolphin is a GREAT location, and you have EMH eligibility...you can't do the DDP from S or D. Of course w/ the redesign for 2008, I no longer think that's a big deal at all. The new DDP isn't a good deal for our family anymore. Sooooo....get a good rate at either and enjoy those comfy beds and great location. Oh, and the pool is so nice too.

A PP did make a good point about the transportation to/from MCO. But honestly, The S & D are wonderful!
