I keep reading about special Teacher Rates at the Swan and Dolphin. We've never stayed at either resort, but am planning a trip for next June and am wondering if we should consider them. My wife is a Teacher Assistant, would she qualify for the Teacher Rate? She does have a school ID and is also a member of the State's association of educators (she joins for legal protection). What kind of rate would we see for just a standard room for next June with the Teacher Rate? Also, I read about renovations taking place. Which resort should we choose to make sure we got a renovated room? Thanks in advance.

I would definitely give it a try. The teach rate is $129. Whether or not she qualifies, I do not know but you can call 800 227-1500 and ask. ...or someone else here can tell you. IF not and she works for a public school, then she can get the government rate which is for employees of all levels of government including state and city. The rate is the same.
Renovations, I think I just read should be completed early 2003 at the Swan and later 2003 at the Dolphin. Which one to choose, I have been there 5 times and I don't know, I love them both.
The location is excellent and the pool is awesome!!

If you go to the top of this board there is a FAQ on these resorts, full of info.

When I stayed at the Dolphin, I didn't bring my teaching certificate. I had the two forms of ID you mentioned. My school ID and my state association membership card. They inspected them carefully, but didn't ask for anything else.
