We are leaving in one week, and last night I checked my reservation on spg's website. I booked 4 nights using the $60 plus 4,000 pt offer for each night.
However, last night I noticed 2 of the 4 nights are saying that I am paying $300 per night plus 4,000 pts. I am a gold member, when I book the room, it automatically goes to club level. The first 2 nights are showing $60 plus points, but the last 2 are showing $300 plus points.
I called Swan and they said they could not do anything with it because it is cash & point, told me to call Starwood.
Called Starwood and they said that they can't change the rate, asked me to cancel and re-book. Got the same thing again when I rebooked on-line. Had to call them again and they had to change my room to regular room with no CL.
Now I have 2 types of room at Swan and I have to call the hotel again to see if they can switch me today. If not, I will just cancel the room for the last 2 nights and go somewhere else.
I told them that they should honor the $60 offer if that is what I booked on line. Who would have thought that even when you paid $60, it said $60 at the time of booking, and then when you go to "check reservation" page, the price would be changed to $300, and they expect you to pay that? I told them there is no such offer for $300 plus 4,000 pts, plus I did not choose club level when I chose the room at the time of booking. The guy at Starwood was grumpy, did not offer much help!
Being only 1 week to go and now I may have to re-schedule my trip, I am not a happy camper.
So please check your reservation to make sure it says $60 if you get a club level room like I do.
