Swan / Dolphin during August - No rooms??

What is happening at the Swan / Dolphin during August? I keep plugging in my dates (August 12 to August 21) and it tells me that no rooms are available. Is there a huge convention or what?

Just call Swan/Dolphin reservations and ask them if any of those dates are blocked off for a convention - they'll tell you.

I'd like to know what you find out. I was able to get a reservation there through Dreams Unlimited for Aug 10-18. I'd be curious to know if there's a convention.

What web site were you looking at? I found that either calling SPG (Starwood Prefered Guest) if you are not a member sign up on the web! or checking with the hotel web site (not swananddolphin) but Sheraton or Westin. Also check the "other disney hotels" on mousesaver, there is a link too.

I was clicking on the link on the top of the page for this forum. Figured it was the official website.

I just found my rate (Christmas) by accident. I went to mousesaver and looked for the Dolphin AAA rate. Clicked the link and put in my dates. Much better rate than I have been offered via phone or "official" site. I was very surprised. But as I said, you can check with Westin, or Sheraton, or SPG too.

Did you try arriving one day earlier or later? Sometimes it can make a difference.

It looks like only the 12th - 14th at Swan and 12th - 13th at Dolphin are unavailable. Maybe you could split your stay with another resort.

I was looking at Aug. dates too for fun. We were looking at 8/13- 8/23, and at that time there was nothing. I though it was strange. It is the first time I couldn't find something.
