We are planning are trip to Disney World for June 26th through July 11th. Does anyone know when the release the entertainment rate for the Dolphin and the Swan. Right now when I requested a quote from Dreams Unlimited it gave me rack rate instead of the 50% off rate. Also do you realy get a full 50% off it seems to good to be true. This is the first time with an entertainment book so I'm still trying to figure it all out. Thanks for any help.

The Entertainment rate is 50% off the RACK rate - meaning the nondiscounted rate...so it can be pretty high.

Rack rates at S/D start at $295 and go up from there.
In any case, many/most hotels in the Entertainment program don't give a true 50% off at all times, which is perfectly understandable. Just call and ask for their Entertainment rate on the dates you're interested in. If you don't like it, don't take it.

I don't know when their release dates are. Universal indicated that for next July, the dates should come out in October. I haven't had a chance to call yet to see if they have been released. I'm just crossing my fingers I haven't missed my dates!

Stacy, I booked the Dolphin w/the entertainment rate for August 04 and got a rate of $147.50 +tax. I think they told me when I booked that the E rates were out thru Oct. 04. So give 'em a call!

i booked dolphin concierge for next october for 206 or something like that, but am thinking of switching to regular room. BTW, AAA rate is the same at swan and dophin.

Alexedan - is that rate before or after taxes and resort fee?

I ask because I reserved a Dolphin balcony room for June 2004 with the entertainment rate for about that same price after taxes and resort fee. After seeing your note I'm wondering if maybe I didn't get a good deal.

For your reference, we got a reg. view room at the Dolphin for $162 diring Spring Break (4/2-4/10). A week later it was over $300!

I have reservations at the Dolphin with the Entertainment rate (end of June 2004). We are paying $162.50 plus tax for a standard view room. I read an earlier post about a $147.50 rate. I called about this and was told that was a mistake, who knows? You need to call the hotel directly; Dreams Unlimited does not have the Entertainment rates yet.

In regards to my $147.50 rate at the Dolphin.... I was originally quoted $162.50, I called back to get the address where to send deposit and asked how much it would it be for the Swan out of curiosity. The reservationists said, "oh, that will be a little higher...$162.50", and I said but that is what I am paying, then she said the rate for the Dolphin should be $147.50 and $162.50 for the Swan. So I said, great, I'll take the Dolphin at $147.50.

I had to call back again for something else and I again asked the rate I was booked at and they told me $147.50.... so if it's a mistake, then I got a deal!

We are staying at the Dolphin 2/27 - 3/6. I was quoted $162.50 + tax + resort fee (Standard room) for both AAA and Entertainment rates.

Thanks everybody. I suppose i should hurry up and make up my mind what days I want to stay there. With 15 nights to fill I'll probably split my stay.

There appears to be a $15 difference in room rates between the Swan and Dolphin. The teacher rate is $129 at the Dolphin and $144 at the Swan, again that $15.

I wonder why the rates are a little higher at the Swan?:headache:

I too was in question about the $15 difference. The Dolphin is currently being rennovated so that might be the reason why. The Swan has the heavenly beds in all rooms now, the Dolphin is in the process of getting them.

Also, when I called the Dolphin directly to check on rates, they quoted me $144 for the teacher rate. When I went thru
Dreams Unlimited, I was able to get the same reservation for $129/night. (I assume they've secured a block of rooms at that rate).
I've re-confirmed this rate with the Dolphin, and it looks like a go!

The Swan has queen beds rather than the "long doubles" that the Dolphin features. Also the Swan has been recently renovated and now features the Westin "Heavenly Bed".

As the Dolphin completes its renovation, I expect the prices will again become equal. I've heard (but don't know) that the Dolphin is also getting Heavenly Beds. I have no idea whether the Dolphin is moving to queens or sticking with doubles.

LIL PRINCESS--not sure if before or after taxes--but do know that I was told AAA and entertainment were exactly the same.
