swan club level

We will be at the swan for labor day weekend (me and DH..no kids!). anyway, how much of a chance is there for a comped upgrade to club level? I know it is never guaranteed for comps, but does it EVER happen, or NEVER happen? We are celebrating our 20th anniversary and it would be a nice comp, but I don't have the $$ to spend. I got a great rate for the dates I will be there, if I hadn't we would be at the hotel royal plaza!!! Anyway, just wondering if I could at least hope for the comp, or not!!! TIA!!!

If you aren't already, join the Starwood Preferred Guest Program (SPG) to show your "dedicated loyalty" to the Starwood brand. You may join online at http://www.starwood.com/preferredguest/account/newroc_join1.html . Once you have your member number, call back the Swan (or Starwood - whomever you made your reservation through) and have them note BOTH your SPG number as well as your special event. With any luck, the combication of the two, with a kind hearted front desk, will yield you some nice upgrades.
