Just saw pictures of the Swan boats on Dan Murphy's fantastic photo thread. Can anyone give me information on them (cost/schedule/fun factor/etc)?

Sharon

If you are referring to the boats running between the Swan/Dolphin and Epcot and MGM, there is no charge. They run on a regular schedule, but I don't remember what the schedule is. It visits the Yatch/Beach Club and Boardwalk in addition to the Swan/Dolphin.

If you are referring to another boat, I have no idea. However, there used to be a Swan Boat ride at the MK, but that ride was discontinued years ago.

If you are referring to the Friendship Boats they run approximately every 20 minutes. From S/D you go straight to MGM or if you are headed to Epcot you stop at Y/B & Boardwalk on the way.

I don't know about a 'fun factor' but they sure are relaxing to come back on at nite.

No, Sharon is not referring to the Friendship Boats. There are some lovely little boats shaped like Swans that are in the water over near the Swan and Dolphin hotels. I've never stayed at those hotels though so I don't have any info on how the boats operate.

Sharon, you could always send a Private Message to Dan and ask him about them. I'm sure he'd have an answer for you.

Are you referring to these? You can rent them, they are paddle boats. We never did, so I'm not sure of the cost.

They are pedal boats & cost around $14 per 1/2 hour. If you do it take a camera with you to get some unique pictures of both resorts & the grotto pool, etc. You can only go in the area between the two resorts. It was a fun diversion on a pleasant afternoon, especially since DW did most of the pedaling!

On our Honeymoon in 1977, we went on the Swan Boat ride that cruised in the moat around Cinderella's Castle. You can still see the dock area by the moat at the MK. , It is now used for shade area.

Ok, I do think I remember these now - I think Kendra spotted but then saw how much they were and I blew it off at the time because we were running low on cash. I'll have to make it a priority next time.
