Swan and Dolphin Resort question

Hi there,
I'm planning a family vacations for next summer at Disney, if we stay at "Swan and Dolphin Resort" and get a ticket packages for "Disney and Universal Studios", do we need to rent a car or we can move on from place to place just using internal transportation?

Disney provides free transportation to Disney Parks for the Swan & Dolphin resorts just as they do for other Disney owned resorts.

The Swan and Dolphin resorts do NOT provide transportation to the Universal Parks as they are competitors to Disney. They also do NOT provide transportation to/from the Airport.
You can schedule other paid transportation to the Universal Parks or the Airport (cabs, Uber, shuttles). There are usually several cabs outside the resorts.
The Dolphin has a rental car desk in the lobby. So you could rent a car for a day directly from the hotel.

Note that the boats don't run when it is stormy. Shuttle buses to Epcot and DHS will run during those times.

In the past we have purchased Universal tickets from Dreams Unlimited that included transportation from Disney properties:

The shuttles have certain departure times from Disney resorts (and they stop at multiple resorts).
