Swan and Dolphin discounts for Teachers

Does anyone know about the discounts for teachers at the Swan and Dolphin? Do you have to be a teaching teacher? My wife has her degree in elementary education yet no longer teaches and I am getting my degree in social studies education.

These are the requirements according to Dreams Unlimited:

Teacher and Education Support Staff Discount
All teachers and educational facility administrative personnel (includes colleges and universities) can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts. If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or you are employed in a school as an educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts.This would include teachers aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require a Work ID or letter from supervisor on company letterhead stating employment or a recent Pay Stub.

So, no, doesn't look as though you would qualify. Sorry.

Well I will qualify when I am a teacher, does any one know the discount?

I called the Dolphin directly about two or three months ago and asked what was required to "prove" you are a teacher. I explained that although I have a valid elementary certification, I am currently an at-home mom. The woman I spoke with said I didn't need a paystub, and that a copy of my certificate would be fine. Perhaps you should call direct just to verify.......

I've seen the discounted rate (aka government rate) as low as $129.

I think it's now normally set at $165, which comes out to right around $184 with taxes, etc.
We've stayed at the Dolphin on 4 vacations, and will be staying there again in October, using the govt. rate.
