We stayed at Swan for Thanksgiving week and President's week and didn't seem to have a problem with the A/C. The room was a little stuffy when we first got back each night, but I don't recall there being a problem with it being too warm. The A/C seemed to cool pretty quickly.
There is no charge for port-a-cribs or bed rails. The Dolphin used an institutional looking metal crib instead of the typical port-a-crib the last time we needed one. You have to request one after check-in. We haven't needed one at our stays at the Swan so I can't say about delivery there, but on one trip at the Dolphin I requested bed rails at check-in. They weren't in the room when we returned that night. It took 'til after 10:30 and a very heated discussion with the night manager to get them delivered. On our next stay I by-passed the check-in and bell service people altogether on this issue and called the concierge from the room and requested the bedrail. It was delivered within 10-15 minutes. So I would request one from the concierge at the Swan. You will walk directly past the concierge desk on your way to the elevators at the Swan. You don't have to be staying on the Club Level to use the concierge and they never looked too busy when we passed and they were always so pleasant to deal with so I'm sure they would be glad to make the arrangements.
You can get a roll-away bed in your room but there is an additional charge per night. I don't know the exact cost, but I think it used to be $10 or $15 per night but may be up to $25 now.
Each room has a drip coffee maker, blow dryer, coffee and tea bags. My experience in the past using the drip coffee maker to make hot tea left a coffee taste to the tea. Probably the coffee residue in the filter chamber. The tap may be hot enough to make oatmeal and that's what I used to make tea.
My wife is Lactose intolerant so she has to have lactose-free milk. We always stop at Publix when we get to Hwy 192 (there are two between Hwy 27 and main entrance to WDW). We were told at check-in we could remove as many items as necessary from the refridgerator to make room for the milk without having to pay for them or rental on the fridge (front desk clerk volunteered this info when he saw our children). Just leave a note with the items on the cabinet above the refridgerator door with the items you remove so they won't charge you for those items. You can get milk at one of the shops on The Boardwalk next door if you don't won't to stop at a supermarket on the way or at Tubbie's Buffeteria on the lower level at the Dolphin.
We have always enjoyed our stays at both Swan and Dolphin and I think you should enjoy the Swan, too. However, because of the scale of the Swan, we prefer it to the Dolphin. The trip from the room to the elevator lobby and from the downstairs lobby to the boat dock is shorter at the Swan.
