Swan additional guest who will not be going to parks

Hello, we have 2 adults and 1 child going to Disney world. We are booked at the Swan and have our reservation linked to MDE. My husband has decided he may join us for the week at the Swan and work remotely while my mom, so and I are there. He will be working during the day while we are at the parks and he won't have park tickets at all. Do we need to change our Swan reservation to be 4 people? I feel like that would makes things more complicated from the MDE perspective as then our tickets won't match our reservation. Will he run into any issues using pools, etc if he's not technically registered? Any thoughts how best to proceed? We booked with points, so there is no difference in cost for 3 people or 4 people.

If there is no difference in cost because you booked with points, there should be no problem to add him to the reservation. It shouldn't impact your tickets or theme park reservations or anything else in MDE. But it probably will allow him to legitimately be a hotel guest and utilize amenities.

Thanks for the reply! I thought I had read that with Swan and Dolphin, there were a lot of issues with MDE syncing issues if the reservation # of people did not match the # of people in the MDE app for park tickets and reservations, etc... Maybe I will just call the hotel and ask... I'm also a bit concerned because there are not rooms left to book with points for our dates so I don't really want to mess with the reservation..

You should be able to modify your reservation on the marriott side without a problem, I think since you've already connected the reservation to MDE the problems you described may not be as much of an issue.

I would definitely call the hotel and ask. Another option is to simply add him when you check in. I would definitely register him so he has access to all Swan/Dolphin amenities.
