Really? We really need a show about people that live in swamps and make a living by killing aligators? Do we also now need a show on furniture movers? :confused3 I would have loved to see the geniuses  who produced that show, all sitting around their think tank round tables hashing out ideas. "Well we've had shows about a pawn shop, about loggers, about fishermen, yeah, how about furniture movers, yeah, that's the ticket."

What's next, a show about plumbers? (Not that there's anything wrong with being a plumber, but I don't want to follow you around and watch how you unscrew a PVC pipe or connect up a new hot water heater. )

Not that there is anything wrong with your post per se, but I am having a huge flash of deja vu.

I swear I've read nearly the exact same post--including the part about plumbers--months ago here on the CB.

Anyway, I don't watch Swamp People, but my BFF does and she swears it's a hoot.

Now that you mentioned it I think we were talking about that, I can't remember if it was swamp people or just reality shows in general.

I like Swamp People...I like any show which gives me a peek at a lifestyle I would never encounter everyday.

Swamp people is great. Families working together doing a dangerous job. People want the product and it has to come from somewhere. People would just rather disconnect animal products from their origin.

Love this show! My DH wants to move to LA and hunt gator!:laughing: In fact we got Gator meat and I cooked it up for Christmas. It was pretty good. My dh says if we have another boy he wants to name him "T-My husband's" name.:rotfl: Just like T-Mike.

Oh you have not lived until you watch Ax Men or Loggers. Or my personal favorite and I can't help it, but it is "Billy The Exterminator".:lmao:

I'm waiting for Roofers, Ditchdiggers, and Trashmen.

"Man the things we find in the trash, one time we found this body and....."

Oh I forgot they do have one about Trashmen, but they call it "Pickers," the new PC name for dumpster diving.

I love "American Pickers"! I don't consider the stuff "trash". It more like collectables.

'one man's trash is another man's treasure'.... as they make painfully obvious when they can pull out some rusted old lunchbox and find someone who will pay $100K for it....

next show will be about a company who supplies portable toilets to work sites/parties/events/etc; and cover the 'afterwards' when they go to pick them back up and clean them out....

I saw one last week called "Storage Wars" it was about people who buy the contents of abandoned storage units at auction and then try to sell the contents for a profit. I liked it, I thought it was kind of interesting.

Personally, I'm fascinated by swamp people. I just had no idea that was a job - I never thought about it I guess. I'm from Long Island, and we don't have alligator hunters here! Or swamps for that matter. It entertains me to no end - guess I'm the target audience!

These are the shows that always appear on our tv. I tell my DH that it's going to rot his brain, but he doesn't seem to mind brain rot :confused3

Lol, a far as the other options listed, they all come under "dirty jobs!" I like the pickets show, also.

Lol, your choices? Most tv is just idle entertainment. Some people might even think that disneyworld is brain rot material. I mean, really everyone should be spending their time in the national parks and museums. ;)

Swamp People cracks me up . We watch it , it is our neck of the woods. All of the people in it, live with in about 2 hours from us at the most. It is neat because most of the places they hunt we recognize. Troy and his family live where another Dis er I am friends with, owns a camp and we fish in the area quite a bit, have been to the little bar they showed on one of shows. Bruce Kleibert shops at a close friend of ours RV store , he says he is a really nice fellow , always has those overalls on and is quite wealthy .
DH and I met several members of the cast about a month ago at the Bass Masters Classic in Nola. People were scooping up their tshirts and other goodies. I decided I did not need a tee shirt that said "CHOOT EM " on it LOL.

Mindless tv it is , but sometimes it is nice to take a break from all the horrible news in the world. : )
