My DH and I will be flying on Southwest in Sept for the first time with an infant. We will have our then 9m old on our laps.

Can anyone who has done this before share how your experience was? Any tips on helping him relax though the flight?

Also I am wondering if they allowed you to gate check both a full size stroller and a car seat. We have a travel system with the car seat fitting inside the stroller, and are hoping to gate check both. I called SW, but the rep seemed kind of confused himself.....sort of being contradicting.

If we can't gate check the seat, do you know if they allow us to check it in at the main counter with the rest of our luggage, but NOT have it count as one of our 4 pcs of luggage? (We were planning to just tuck the base into a suitcase so it wasn't hanging around loose.)

Thanks!!

Yes.

Yes to this as well.

All of the luggage rules are available on SWA's website.

Don't forget to bring a copy of his birth certificate.

Wanted to second the birth certificate. I flew several times with my dd as a lap child on SW starting when she was 3 months old and they always asked to see her birth certificate.
