SWA Credits use in 1 year or purchase tixs in one year??

I am waffling hard to buy my tix now or wait for a ding. The "next" time we would go would be 11/06 so if I bought now, got a credit in the next month, can I use it next Aug/Sept to purchace airfare for 11/06 or do I have to "fly" within one year of the credit??

You have 1 year from the original date of ticket purchase to COMPLETE TRAVEL with those funds....the good news is they will cheerfully give you a 6 month extension on the TTF's if you call customer service and ask....however the 6 month extension begins when you call, not when the funds expire....so I have a note hanging on my computer now to call just before 12/5 (when my funds expire) to get my 6 month extension so it will get me to early June!!

Doggonit! I didn't know about that and had a $60 credit expire last year! I coulda gotten it extended and used it for my last trip...

I don't know if they are still doing this or not, but I just called the long distance # on their website on 2 occasions this past summer and asked for the credit to be refunded to my CC, and they cheerfully did so.
