SWA Credit Question

Hi all, I just saved $9 per person (there are 5 of us) on an upcoming trip due to a drop in fare on SWA (woo hoo)

I know this has been asked a million times, but can somebody remind me if that credit can be used towards buying the early check-in on SWA?

PS - is there a limit as to how many times I can change a flight on SWA? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere....

I do not think you can use credits to pay for early bird check-in. I know you can not use a gift card. The only option on the online purchase is credit card.

I know it makes me feel good too when I re-book at a lower price, but I haven't ever been able to use the travel funds (because I'm not a frequent flier).

SW doesn't allow them to be used on EBCI; you also cannot use them on any other types of bookings (other than airfare) on their website - such as automobile rentals, etc.

Additionally, they have to be used within a year of the original purchase, not travel, date; and they can only be used for the person who the original ticket was for. They'll let you extend the funds beyond a year for a $75 fee, but they assess that fee per ticket, so unless you've saved substantially, an extension doesn't work.

I still keep re-booking too though - because you just never know.

Okay, thanks for all the helpful info. I thought about whether or not we would be able to use the credit, and we are planning to travel in March, but 2 of the people are my folks and I'm not positive that they will be going away anytime soon. However, like you said, it doesn't hurt to re-book just in case. Too bad we can't use them for early check-in.
