One leg of my flight on SWA has gone down in price considerably since I booked it. (Booked both legs separately.) If I rebook to get SWA credits, will this affect my Early Bird Check In that I purchased for that leg? (Flight numbers and everything are still the same.)

Nevermind. I found the answer on the SWA site. And yes, your EBCI goes with it. Earned $75 in SWA credits!

I was going to say that your EBCI stays with your reservation number, so as long as you don't cancel the reservation, your EBCI will be good for your other less expensive flight.

Bear with me -- newbie with SW. How do you change your flight to lower fares and keep the EBCI that your purchased? I thought you had to cancel and rebook? TIA

If it's a DING! fare you have to cancel and rebook I think, if it's a normal fare change you just click on 'change flight' on the main page.

I'm new to SW as well but thought I would chime in and advise this is exactly what we were told. Since I was trying to book a Ding (or change it), I would have to CANCEL it and therefore would lose our ECBI.
Hope this helps,
Heather

And right from their website..

If an EarlyBird Check-in Customer chooses to change a flight, will the EarlyBird Check-in options transfer to the new flight?
It depends. EarlyBird Check-in is tied to the Customer's reservation for which the EarlyBird Check-in purchase was made and will be transferred to the Customer's new flight if he/she changes the flight at least 25 hours prior to the original flight's scheduled local departure time and so long as the change is to a flight that will depart in more than 25 hours. Since EarlyBird Check-in is associated with a reservation, any changes must be made within the same reservation record (same confirmation number) in which the Customer purchased EarlyBird Check-in.

Is EarlyBird Check-in refundable?
All EarlyBird Check-in purchases are nonrefundable. Customers who cancel their flight will forfeit the previously purchased Early Bird Check-in option for that particular flight.
