SWA Changes last minute

Hey all,

I'm flying on May 19th and I got a flight at 4:30 pm. Really, I would like to get the earliest flight possible, but they are way more expensive... so right now I'm just waiting. Do you think if I called up the day before or something that they might give me something earlier for the same price??? I'm just curious if anyone has ever tried this before...

No, I don't believe they will. We tried that last December when we went to Las Vegas, cause they were was a huge storm in Chicago. We had a stop over there and I asked if they would change our flight to a direct so we wouldn't have to fly thru Chicago. They said it would be an extra charge. We took our chances and it all worked out.
I think you should keep your eye out for a DING!

i got on an early flight to orlando from buffalo.. we asked sothwest if we could get on if there were any open seats,,.they said YES..we in at 930 instead of 230..as long as there were open seats,,they said it was ok..they even got our bags from curb side checkin..it was great,,

How did this happen? Did you call early or did you just show up super early?

That is really odd, because SW has a pretty firm policy to go Standby on an earlier flight you have to upgrade to full walkup refundable fare.

The only reason I can think of that they allowed this is that the flight you were supposed to be on was way overbooked/delayed/had mechancial problems and there was something on the Gate Agents screen to waive any rules that day to get folks on an earlier/later flight.

If that was the case, then it was a very random instance and was nothing you could count on.

we just showed up eary ..because we thought there was going to be a storm ,,but ti didnt get there so se just asked,,if there was a way tto get on the flight leaveing ,she checked,,and said it was ok there were open seats,,they got our luggage from curb check in and that was it ,,that was from buffalo to orlando,,non stop
