SWA $49 Sale

Oh shoot! I just got our flights for March a few weeks ago. Based on our dates and times it would have saved us about $40 each.

I'm a Sacramentan as well! (Assuming you are since you pointed out the city specifically) :goodvibes

Are your flights with SWA? They don't charge for changing flights. And another thing I really like is that unlike other airlines, they don't charge for two checked bags.
I'm in Sonoma County actually. Lol...I had read posts not long ago from people in the Sacramento area that were trying to get lower airfares at the time from what had been available then.

Oh, I'll look into seeing if I can change them! Yes, the SMF airport is generally overpriced, but since I live here its really the only option that makes sense for me!

I was excited when I saw the email this morning and checked it out to see if I could save any money on the flights for June I already booked. I actually booked using points and I thought it was interesting that while the flight down was significantly less, the flight back up was enough of an increase that it was the still the same amount of points. If I had booked using money, I would have save a little because of the flight down, but the the flight back almost negated the savings.

I was in the same situation and was able to just change the departing flight and receive travel funds for future use (I paid money on Wanna Get Away fare rates). Maybe you can try just changing the flight with the cheaper rate? Not sure if it's different with points though.

As StarlitNight05 mentioned you can rebook just 1 portion of your flight if the others went up in price.
Last week's sale saved me $30 each way, I rebooked to go from $98 each way down to $69 each way. Then with this morning's sale 1 leg was the same price and the other was down to $49 so I rebooked JUST that leg. And this is for SMF-SNA next month.

I actually booked with points so the points got credited back to me (after everything is said and done I saved over 5000 RR points for both my mom & my tickets, total savings of 10,000 points!! And my brother who paid cash saved $78.
One thing to note is if you book paying cash the difference is given as a travel voucher that needs to be used within 1 year.

Bummed that PHX-SNA isn't part of sale....can't decide if the pain of flying into LAX is worth saving $40....

As someone who has flown into LAX for a Disney trip I can tell you, no it is not worth a $40 savings. $200, yes, $40 no!
