Headed to SW in February and I know there are "things" at SW that are cash only.....can anyone give me a run-down of what those are so that I have enough cash on me. I usually don't carry a lot of cash on vaca, but I know feeding the dolphins is one of them. Anything else I'll need cash for? Thx.

I don't know of anything else that requires cash. I don't know if it's still the same but I do remember that things like tours can be paid by cash or credit card but not debit card. They do have ATMs in the park if you need them.

Fairly sure that any of the food that you buy to feed the animals (i.e. I think you can feed the sea lions) is cash only.

We just returned from our Orlando trip today:sad2: We visited SeaWorld on 12/29/08. Here is a list of prices for "extras", listed on the map;

Xtreme Zone (Mega trampoline) $8
Paddle boats $4
Sky Tower $3

Food for the stingrays was $3

It costs $7/person to feed the dolphins. I asked if I could go in to help my daughters feed the dolphins, but not buy a tray of food for myself to feed the dolphins. They said "no"; everyone who goes into the feeding area is charged $7. It was totally worth the cost (in fact we wound up doing this twice!). Just be prepared for the cost, especially with a large family. They do take credit cards there, so you don't need cash.

Hope this helps!
Have a great time!:)

THANKS SO MUCH!!! I'll start stashing my extra cash :)

If your kids like face painting or temporary tattoos, or want to buy like a Coke or Shamu ice cream bar, those are cash only.

Thanks for the info -- our first trip to Seaworld is 2 weeks from tomorrow. And I probably would have been without cash :flower3:

Hi,
We are a family of 4 and was planning on buying 2 trays of fish between the 4 of us,but that would'nt be allowed now?.We must buy 4 trays if all 4 of us want to be in there?.
Also do the professional photographers still take the pics of you feeding them, which you can purchase after?.If yes can you remember how much?.Thank you.x.

Snowy-girls,

Yes, when we were there, they charged everyone who went in $7, and each person got a tray of food. I did ask if I could just go in to help my daughters, and not buy the food. They said "no". If I remember right, there weren't that many pieces of fish in each tray. If your kids are really enjoying feeding the dolphins, it will be good to have the extra trays anyway.

Yes, the professional photographers are there snapping tons of pictures. They give you a ticket with a number on it, and then when the feeding is over, you go to an area with computers to view the photos. We didn't buy any photos, but I think the cheapest was around $20. It got cheaper, the more photos you bought.

My husband didn't go into the feeding area. He stood across the pool with our camera and snapped pictures of us feeding the dolphins. So that is an alternative.

Thank you so much for your info, much appreciated :goodvibes .
$20 for one photo  .
What did your pics come out like that your husband took-was he far away-we don't have a fantastic camera to get really good close up's.
Yes our girls really want to do this-oh is there an age range for this-our youngest is only 4.Are they set feeding times-how would i find out the times?.
Sorry for all the questions :goodvibes .Thank you.x.

p.s--bas71873-hope you don't mind me asking some questions on your thread :goodvibes .x.

Our pictures turned out pretty well, but our camera can zoom in 12x. They were not as good as the professional ones, of course. Don't quote me on the price of the photos, but I think they were around $20 for the first one, and then got cheaper if you bought more. I think it would be a priceless souvenir if they got a good shot of your girls!

There are set feeding times. One of my daughters and I went to the first feeding, while my other 2 girls rode Kraken with my husband. That was right after park opening. We didn't have to wait much at all at that time. We went back with the whole family mid-afternoon, and it was much more crowded. We had to wait about 45 minutes to get in. If feeding the dolphins is a "must-do", I would head over there first thing.

Just an FYI, there is an area separate from the feeding area that you can go and pet the dolphins. There is no charge for this. We didn't go over there, but from what I could see, most of the dolphins were over by the feeding area.

Have a great time!

Nope. Don't mind at all. I'm reading and learning along with ya :goodvibes

Thank you.The last time we went to Seaworld it used to just be the free for all round the edge of their pool.So maybe this new way of doing it is'nt such a bad thing.
Yes i think it sounds like a good idea to do this first thing especially as were going Easter holidays.
See our camera would'nt be as good as yours-so hopefully a really nice pic will be taken of our girls+we will then purchase that. Thanks again for helping me,much appreciated :thumbsup2 .x.

You're welcome, Snowy-girls! I have learned so much from others on these discussion boards. I'm glad that I could help someone else!

Are you allowed to buy more than one tray per person?

Great post Koda. That helps those of us Sea World first timers plan the extra cash things we know we will get talked into by our kids!

Ok, I am learning entirely too much here, I think I might need to rethink the amount set aside for Sea World....:confused3
